Product Description
FOX DECODUR MOSAIC PLASTER (BUNTSTEINPUTZ) is a ready-to-use mosaic plaster / decorative coating material with an organic binder containing natural stone aggregates. Its single-component formulation ensures ease of application. It is used primarily as a finish coat on exterior facades and on external thermal insulation composite systems (ETICS). While imparting a natural stone appearance to the surface, it provides high mechanical strength and long-lasting protection.
The product complies with EN 15824:2017. Thanks to its acrylic-based composition, it maintains water vapour permeability while delivering W2 class performance against water absorption. The fire classification has been determined as A2-s1, d0 in accordance with EN 13501-1. A natural aesthetic appearance is achieved with a maximum aggregate size of 2 mm. Applied with a stainless steel trowel, the product meets the aesthetic requirements of various architectural projects with 6 different colour options.
Advantages
- Water vapour permeable.
- Resistant to UV and outdoor weather conditions.
- Free of solvents and plasticisers.
- Easy to apply.
- Offers high mechanical strength and abrasion resistance.
- Long-lasting.
- Provides a decorative and aesthetic appearance.
Usage Areas
- As a decorative finish coat on exterior facades
- For decorative coating purposes in interior spaces
- On the lower facade areas of buildings near ground level, exposed to impact and soiling
- On thermal insulation systems (ETICS)
- On concrete and cement-based plastered surfaces
- On surfaces requiring impact and abrasion resistance
Application Steps
- 1
Surface Preparation
Surfaces to be plastered must be free of mould release agents, loose particles, dust and any substances that could adversely affect the adhesion of the plaster. Cracks and voids on the surface must be repaired using appropriate INNO-CRETE series repair mortars. For applications on thermal insulation systems, the surface must be prepared by applying a system-compatible primer over the fully cured plaster layer reinforced with mesh fabric.
- 2
Priming
FOX DECODUR PUTZGRUND FB310 is applied homogeneously by roller onto the cleaned and prepared surface. The application rate should be adjusted according to the condition of the surface; the consumption should be increased on surfaces with a high risk of adhesion. Pooling on the surface must not be allowed. The finish coat application must only commence after FOX DECODUR PUTZGRUND FB310 has fully dried.
- 3
Mixing
Before use, the product must be mixed with an electric mixer at 400–600 rpm. If deemed necessary, a maximum of 1% clean water may be added for consistency adjustment.
- 4
Application
Care must be taken to ensure the primed surface is completely dry; application must not be carried out on frozen, frost-risk or overheated surfaces. FOX DECODUR MOSAIC PLASTER must be applied homogeneously to the surface with a stainless steel trowel and scraped to the aggregate grain thickness. After a short waiting period depending on ambient conditions, and before a surface film forms, the coating must be levelled with a clean stainless steel trowel in a single direction using light and even pressure. To prevent joints forming on adjacent surfaces, application must be continued without interruption following the 'wet on wet' principle. Work breaks should be planned at corners, joints or similar natural break points.
- 5
Tool Cleaning
Tools and equipment used after application must be cleaned with water. Once FOX DECODUR MOSAIC PLASTER has hardened, it can be removed from the surface mechanically using a solvent.
Application must not be carried out if the ambient or surface temperature is below +10°C or above +30°C; suitable temperatures must be awaited.
Application must not be carried out during rain or when there is a risk of rain. Surfaces that have not fully cured must not be exposed to water.
In outdoor applications, the product must be protected against sun, wind and frost.
Must not be used on horizontal surfaces exposed to standing water, continuous moisture or hydrostatic pressure.
Masking tapes must be carefully removed before the product begins to set.
Excessive or prolonged trowelling can cause trowel marks and colour tone variations, particularly in light colours.
To minimise colour tone variations on connected surfaces, products from the same production batch should be used. If the use of different batches is unavoidable, they must be sufficiently blended together before application.
If deemed necessary, a maximum of 1% clean water may be added for consistency adjustment; the product must be mixed homogeneously.
The product must be stored in its original unopened packaging in a dry and cool environment (between +10°C and +30°C), protected from sunlight and frost. Shelf life is 12 months from the date of manufacture. Opened packaging must be consumed within 1 week.
Work clothing, protective gloves, goggles and a mask must be worn during application. Contact with skin and eyes must be avoided; in case of contact, wash thoroughly with plenty of water and soap. In case of ingestion, consult a doctor immediately.
