Product Description

FOX DECODUR PRIMER is a water-based acrylic polymer dispersion primer that provides extra opacity for walls and ceilings. Suitable for interior and exterior use, it is solvent-free, low-odour, and fast-drying. It prevents sheen differences, improves the adhesion of topcoat paints such as FOX DECODUR SILICONE FB960 DÜZ and FOX DECODUR SILICONE FB960 GRENLİ to the surface, and enhances their opacity. By reducing the surface absorption of the substrate, it increases the efficiency of topcoat applications. With a density of 1.55 kg/lt and a solids content of 70%, the product delivers high performance and cures in approximately 4 hours at +23°C ambient conditions.

Advantages

  • Provides extra opacity.
  • Improves the opacity and adhesion of the topcoat.
  • Reduces sheen differences.
  • Solvent-free.
  • High performance, fast-drying.

Usage Areas

  • Used prior to painting on existing exterior cladding materials and lightly absorbent mineral surfaces.
  • Used indoors and outdoors on walls and ceilings over paint, cement, and plaster layers, concrete, brick, plasterboard, and similar surfaces.

Application Steps

  1. 1

    Surface Preparation

The application surface must be sound, load-bearing, dust-free, and clean. Cracks must be repaired and loose particles, oil, grease, rust, and paraffin residues must be removed. When used outdoors, moss must be removed and further moss growth prevented.

  2. 2

    Mixing

FOX DECODUR PRIMER is ready to use. Stir thoroughly before use.

  3. 3

    Dilution

If required, up to 10% water may be added.

  4. 4

Application on New / Untreated Surfaces

Thoroughly clean dust from the surface. Apply FOX DECODUR PRIMER by roller. Once dry, finish with FOX DECODUR SILICONE FB960 DÜZ or FOX DECODUR SILICONE FB960 GRENLİ topcoat paint.

  5. 5

Application over Existing Sound Wall Paint

Clean the existing paint from the surface. Once dry, apply FOX DECODUR PRIMER by roller. Once dry, finish with FOX DECODUR SILICONE FB960 DÜZ or FOX DECODUR SILICONE FB960 GRENLİ topcoat paint.

  6. 6

    Application on Existing Non-Flexible Surfaces

Remove loose layers thoroughly. Clean dust from the surface and allow to dry. Repair any areas requiring repair and fill cracks. Once dry, apply FOX DECODUR PRIMER by roller. Once dry, finish with FOX DECODUR SILICONE FB960 DÜZ or FOX DECODUR SILICONE FB960 GRENLİ topcoat paint.

  7. 7

    Tool Cleaning

After application, all tools and equipment must be cleaned with water. Once FOX DECODUR PRIMER has hardened, it can only be removed from the surface mechanically.

Critical

Do not apply if the ambient or surface temperature is below +5°C or above +30°C; wait for suitable temperatures.

Critical

The surface dew point temperature must be at least +3°C above the ambient temperature.

Critical

For exterior applications, protect from sunlight, rain, wind, and frost for the first 24 hours.

Important

If the surface is highly absorbent, prime with FOX PRIMERA FL220 before applying FOX DECODUR PRIMER.

Important

Ensure adequate ventilation of the area during interior applications.

Important

High temperatures accelerate hydration and shorten the working time. Low temperatures slow hydration and extend the working time. The substrate and ambient temperature must not fall below the permitted minimum temperature.

Important

Store the product at room temperature, away from direct sunlight, in a dry, cool, frost-free location between +5°C and +30°C. Shelf life is 12 months from the date of manufacture. Opened packaging must be resealed and used within 1 week.

Critical

Keep open flames away from storage and application areas. Areas must be ventilated.

Important

Wear work clothing, protective gloves, goggles, and a mask during application. Avoid contact with skin and eyes; in case of contact, wash thoroughly with plenty of water and soap. If swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.

Important

Do not bring food or beverages into application areas. Store out of reach of children.

Information

For short-term storage, stack no more than 3 pallets high and apply a first-in, first-out dispatch system. For long-term storage, pallets must not be stacked on top of one another.

Information

The drying times in the table are given for +23°C and 50% relative humidity. Higher temperatures shorten the time; lower temperatures extend it.

Information

Refer to the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for hazardous substances.
