Product Description
FOX MS BARRIER is a solvent-based mould, moisture and stain-blocking primer and paint material reinforced with special polymers, designed to prevent problems caused by mould and moisture on interior and exterior walls of buildings. The product has a density of 1.34 gr/cm³, is white in colour and has a dead-matt appearance. It adheres strongly to the surface even when the paint or wall is damp, does not blister, and is resistant to UV rays, rain and salt. The product can be used both as a primer and as a topcoat and is applied ready-to-use without dilution. Cellulosic thinner is used for cleaning tools.

Application Steps

Surface Preparation
The surface to be treated must be sound and clean. Loose, blistered paint layers and weak plaster fragments must be scraped off. Cracks and voids must be repaired with a repair mortar such as FOX SLIM MORTAR FC105. Once the surface has been freed of dust and dirt, the product can be applied directly.

Mixing
FOX MS BARRIER must be stirred with an electric mixer at 400–600 rpm before use.

Dilution
FOX MS BARRIER is not diluted and must be used directly.

Application as Primer
Apply one coat of FOX MS BARRIER to the surface first. On surfaces that have been exposed to heavy moisture or where mould is present, a second coat may be applied after a waiting period of 24 hours. If surface irregularities are present, surface levelling is carried out with FOX SILK MORTAR FC125 skim coat at least 24–48 hours after the FOX MS BARRIER primer application. At least 6 hours after the levelling, FOX PRIMERA® FL220 primer is applied. Depending on ambient conditions, a breathable paint (FOX INOVA MATT or FOX INOVA SILAN) is applied after waiting 24–48 hours. If there are no surface irregularities, the breathable topcoat is applied 24–48 hours after the FOX MS BARRIER primer application.

Application as Paint
FOX MS BARRIER is applied as the first coat primer. If surface irregularities are present, surface levelling is carried out with FOX SILK MORTAR FC125 skim coat at least 24–48 hours after the primer application. At least 6 hours after the levelling, FOX PRIMERA® FL220 primer is applied. At least 6 hours after the FOX PRIMERA® FL220 application, FOX MS BARRIER paint is applied as the topcoat. If there are no surface irregularities, the FOX MS BARRIER topcoat is applied at least 24 hours after the primer application.

Cleaning of Application Tools
After application, tools and equipment used must be cleaned with cellulosic thinner.
Important
Application must be carried out wet-on-wet in a single pass to prevent lap marks and overlaps.

Do not apply on exterior facades in rainy weather. During and after application, the surface must be protected from rain, water, mechanical impacts and all other external influences for 24 hours.

When taking breaks during the day, packaging lids must always be closed.

Rooms where application is carried out must be very well ventilated. A mask, gloves and protective goggles must be worn during application.

Paints must not be applied in very hot or very cold environments. The recommended air and surface application temperature is between +5°C and +30°C.

It is dangerous to approach storage and application areas with open flames; these areas must always be ventilated.

Avoid contact with skin and eyes; in case of contact, wash immediately with plenty of water and soap. If swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.
Important
Food and beverages must not be brought into application areas. Store out of reach of children.
Important
Can be stored for 12 months in its unopened packaging in a cool, dry place, protected from frost and direct sunlight. The packaging lid must be closed airtight immediately after use.
Information
For short-term storage, pallets must not be stacked more than 3 high and shipments must follow a first-in, first-out system. For long-term storage, pallets must not be stacked on top of each other.
