Product Description
FOX CONTACT PRIMER® FL101 is a mineral-filled, polymer dispersion-based primer used before the application of cement-based and gypsum-based plasters onto smooth and even surfaces. Gypsum-based plasters can chemically react with cementitious surfaces and detach over time. FOX CONTACT PRIMER® FL101 is designed to interrupt this direct contact and create a bonding surface. It meets the requirements of TS EN 1504-2:2005 Clauses 1.2 and 5.2 and TS 13744:2017 Class 1. It contains no organic solvents and can be safely used indoors and outdoors, on vertical surfaces and ceilings. It is applied at a maximum thickness of 0.4 mm, at ambient temperatures between +5°C and +30°C.

Surface Preparation
Surfaces such as concrete and plaster must have achieved their full strength and be free of all types of dirt. If the surface is very dusty, it should be washed with water or thoroughly cleaned with a damp sponge. All weak particles must be scraped off the surface to obtain a sound and clean substrate.

Mixing
FOX CONTACT PRIMER® FL101 is mixed with an electric mixer at 400–600 rpm until the mixture is homogeneous.

Water Addition (Machine Application)
If machine application is to be used: 0.60–0.70 l of water may be added for 5 kg, 1.44–1.68 l for 12 kg, and 3.00–3.50 l for 25 kg. No water is added for manual application.

Application
The product, once it has achieved a homogeneous appearance, is applied to the surface using a coral roller. The application density should be adjusted according to the condition of the surface. Consumption should be increased on surfaces with a high risk of adhesion failure.

Tool Cleaning
After application, the tools and equipment used must be cleaned with water. Once the product has hardened, it can only be removed from the surface by mechanical means.

Plaster Waiting Time
After the primer has dried, a minimum of 24 hours must be waited before plaster application. Drying time is 2–4 hours at +23°C and 50% relative humidity. Higher temperatures shorten the time; lower temperatures extend it.

If the ambient and surface temperature is below +5°C or above +30°C, application must not be carried out; suitable temperatures must be awaited.

For outdoor applications, the product must be protected from sunlight, rain, wind and frost for the first 24 hours.

After the primer has dried, plaster application must be carried out after waiting at least 24 hours.

Contamination of the primer during and after application must be prevented.

The product must be stored in its original unopened packaging, in a dry and cool environment (between +5°C and +25°C), protected from sunlight and frost. Shelf life is 12 months. Opened packages must be consumed within 1 week.

FOX CONTACT PRIMER® FL101 freezes at temperatures below 0°C. Frozen product must not be used.
Important
During application, appropriate work clothing, protective gloves, goggles and a mask must be worn in accordance with occupational health and safety regulations. Contact with skin and eyes must be avoided; in case of contact, wash thoroughly with plenty of water and soap. In case of ingestion, consult a doctor immediately.
Important
Approaching storage and application areas with open flames is dangerous; these areas must be ventilated.
Information
Pallets must never be stacked on top of each other during storage. Shipment must follow a first-in, first-out system.
