Product Description
FOX DECOPRIMER FL204 is a fast-drying, multi-purpose, filled primer based on acrylic dispersion. It has been developed to increase adhesion strength on concrete, wood, composite and similar surfaces prior to the application of decorative coatings such as FOX BETONAGE®, FOX OLYMPOS and FOX OLYMPOS STUCCO. It reduces the water absorption of the surface; when applied to bare concrete surfaces, it allows the direct use of skim coat and levelling compound. It is solvent-free, maintains water vapour permeability and can be applied to damp surfaces.

Application Steps

Surface Preparation
The surfaces to be treated must be sound, dry, dust-free and clean. The surface must be thoroughly cleaned of all oil, grease, rust and paraffin residues that could weaken adhesion, and must be free of loose particles.

Mixing
FOX DECOPRIMER FL204 is ready to use. However, it must be thoroughly stirred before use. Water must absolutely not be added.

Application
For maximum penetration, surfaces are pre-dampened. FOX DECOPRIMER FL204 is applied with a suitable roller or brush. To check whether the surface is ready for coating, masking tape is applied after approximately 4 hours. If FOX DECOPRIMER FL204 has achieved sufficient conditioning on the surface, there should be no dust on the tape when it is removed.

Cleaning of Application Tools
After application, tools and equipment used must be cleaned with water. Once FOX DECOPRIMER FL204 has hardened, it can only be removed from the surface mechanically.

If the substrate temperature is below +5°C or above +30°C, application must not be carried out; suitable temperatures must be awaited.

The product is affected by frost. It must not be stored or transported below 0°C.

For the material to complete its curing, the substrate temperature and ambient temperature must not fall below the permitted minimum temperature.

In outdoor applications, the product must be protected from sunlight, rain, wind and frost for the first 24 hours. Contamination of the primer during and after application must be prevented.

Opened packages must be resealed and consumed within 1 week.

Pallets must never be stacked on top of each other during storage. Shipment must follow a first-in, first-out system.

Approaching storage and application areas with open flames is dangerous. Storage and application areas must be ventilated.

During application, appropriate work clothing, protective gloves, goggles and a mask must be worn in accordance with occupational health and safety regulations.

During storage and application, contact with skin and eyes must be avoided; in case of contact, wash immediately with plenty of water and soap; if swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.

Food and beverages must not be brought into application areas. The product must be stored out of reach of children.

The EU limit value for the VOC content of this product (category IIA/g type wb) is max. 30 g/l (2010). This product contains <30 g/l VOC.
Information
The technical values above are given at +23°C and 50% relative humidity. Higher temperatures shorten the drying time; lower temperatures extend it.
