Product Description
FOX ADMENT PC FM301 is a next-generation superplasticiser concrete admixture based on polycarboxylate ether, developed for the ready-mix concrete and precast industry where high water reduction, prevention of slump loss, and early and final high strength and durability (TS EN 206-1) are required. It complies with the High Water Reducing/Superplasticising and Hardening Accelerating Concrete Admixture standards under TS EN 934-2:2013 Tables 3.1, 3.2 and 7.
Advantages
- Compared to conventional superplasticisers (Naphthalene Sulphonate or Melamine Sulphonate), it further increases the early and final compressive and tensile strength, adhesion to steel, and impermeability of the produced concrete.
- Improves the mechanical properties of concrete such as carbonation resistance, resistance to chloride ion attack, durability against aggressive chemicals, shrinkage and creep.
- Produces Rheoplastic concrete with a low water/cement ratio and minimal risk of segregation and bleeding.
- Enables the production of early high-strength concrete even at low temperatures.
- Reduces casting, compaction and curing time in precast concrete production.
- Increases production efficiency.
- Particularly suitable for the precast sector, near-delivery (without slump retention) ready-mix concrete sector, and site concrete mixes.
- High-quality self-compacting concrete is achieved with the lowest water/cement ratio.
- Makes concrete impermeable.
- Produces homogeneous and cohesive concrete.
- Particularly high early strength is achieved in concrete.
- Improves the surface appearance of precast concrete elements.
- Chloride-free.
Usage Areas
- In precast and prefabricated concrete production
- In concretes requiring early strength during winter months
- In site concrete pours
- In the production of concrete with high 18–24 hour and 28-day strength
- In the production of self-compacting and self-consolidating concrete
- In pump-free ready-mix concrete production
- In the production of segregation-free, fluid Rheoplastic precast concrete elements
Application Steps
- 1
Dry Mixing
The binder (such as cement, micro silica, fly ash, slag) and aggregate should be mixed until a homogeneous mixture is obtained.
- 2
Addition of Water and Admixture
After 50–70% of the mixing water has been added, FOX ADMENT PC FM301 should be added to the mix together with the remaining water.
- 3
Final Mixing
To ensure FOX ADMENT PC FM301 is homogeneously distributed throughout the mix, mixing should be carried out for preferably 60 seconds or for the duration determined by laboratory trials.
- 4
Dosage Determination
For every 100 kg of binder (cement, micro silica, fly ash, slag), a dosage of 0.5–1.0 kg is recommended depending on the desired workability and binder type. The exact dosage must be determined by preliminary laboratory trials according to the concrete class and properties.
The concrete mix design and admixture dosage must be determined by preliminary laboratory trials according to the desired concrete class and properties.
If FOX ADMENT PC FM301 is added to the dry mix before the mixing water is added, the admixture will be absorbed into the mix and will not distribute uniformly; the targeted concrete class and properties will not be achieved. Concrete admixtures must not be added directly to the dry mix.
If the admixture is used at a dosage higher than the recommended range, the setting times of the mix may be extended. In such cases, the concrete must be kept moist and cured throughout the formwork removal period.
FOX ADMENT PC FM301 is not compatible with Naphthalene Sulphonate-based superplasticisers.
Store between +5°C and +30°C, away from direct sunlight, in a cool and dry environment. Protect from frost.
The shelf life is 12 months from the date of manufacture in the original packaging under correct storage conditions.
Approaching storage and application areas with open flame is dangerous; areas must be ventilated.
During application, appropriate work clothing, protective gloves, goggles and a mask must be worn in accordance with occupational health and safety regulations.
Avoid contact with skin and eyes. In case of contact, wash thoroughly with water and soap; if swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.
Food and beverages must not be brought into application areas. Store out of reach of children.
The above technical values are given for +23°C and 50% relative humidity conditions. Higher temperatures shorten the time, lower temperatures extend it.
