Product Description

FOX TRIPLETAPE W is a 3-layer wall/pipe collar waterproofing tape with high transverse flexibility and longitudinal rigidity (non-stretching), coated on both sides with special polypropylene (PP) fleece. The carrier layers consist of polypropylene (PP) fleece, while the middle coating layer is made of highly flexible thermoplastic elastomer. It is easily adapted to pipe penetrations with dimensions of 120x120 mm and a 15 mm diameter hole. With a water impermeability performance of ≥1.5 bar (DIN EN 1928) and a service temperature range of -5°C/+60°C, it can be safely used indoors and outdoors, in wet areas (bathrooms, balconies, terraces, roofs, pools, industrial kitchens).

Advantages

  • Easy and fast to apply.
  • Has very high alkali resistance due to fleece coating on both sides.
  • Resistant to freeze-thaw cycles.
  • Resistant to chemicals.
  • Resistant to hard water and chlorinated water.
  • Resistant to ageing, long service life.
  • Can be used in applications exposed to high loads or under constant positive water pressure.

Usage Areas

  • Indoors and outdoors, for walls
  • Waterproofing applications in wet areas (bathrooms, balconies, terraces, roofs, pools, industrial kitchens, etc.)
  • Ceramic and natural stone applications

Application Steps

  1. 1

    Surface Preparation

The surface to be applied must be sound, dry, clean, free from oil, grease and other adhesion-inhibiting residues, and largely flat. The specific instructions regarding substrate pre-treatment for FOX WATERPROF® FS105, FOX ULTRATEX PLUS and FOX MULTISEAL® STANDART products must be followed.

  2. 2

    Collar Sizing

Before application, ensure that the collars will fit correctly around the installation pipe. If necessary, cut to the appropriate size using scissors or a utility knife.

  3. 3

Application of the Base Waterproofing Layer

The waterproofing material to be used in the system (FOX WATERPROF® FS105, FOX MULTISEAL® STANDART, etc.) is applied to the surface. This layer forms the base coat for bonding FOX TRIPLETAPE products according to the 'wet-on-wet' principle.

  4. 4

    Placing FOX TRIPLETAPE W

The FOX TRIPLETAPE W floor/drain collar is carefully placed onto the fresh waterproofing material. FOX TRIPLETAPE 120 must be bonded with a minimum overlap of 5 cm. This ensures continuity of the waterproofing. The collar element must be pressed down so that no air pockets remain beneath the tape.

  5. 5

Application of the Top Waterproofing Layer

A second coat of the same waterproofing material is applied over the placed collar and connected tapes. FOX TRIPLETAPE W must be fully embedded within the waterproofing layer.

Critical

The surface to be applied must be sound, dry, clean, free from oil, grease and other adhesion-inhibiting residues, and largely flat.

Critical

FOX TRIPLETAPE W must be fully embedded within the waterproofing layer; the collar element must be pressed down so that no air pockets remain beneath the tape.

Critical

FOX TRIPLETAPE 120 must be bonded with a minimum overlap of 5 cm; otherwise, continuity of the waterproofing cannot be ensured.

Important

Care must be taken to ensure that no excess material remains beneath the tape.

Important

Sharp-edged, piercing and hard tools must not be used.

Important

Store in the original unopened packaging in a cool and dry environment, protected from frost. The optimum shelf life is 24 months.

Critical

Approaching storage and application areas with open flame is dangerous. Storage and application areas must be ventilated.

Important

During application, appropriate work clothing, protective gloves, goggles and a mask in accordance with occupational health and safety regulations must be worn.

Critical

During storage and application, contact with skin and eyes must be avoided; in case of contact, wash thoroughly with plenty of water and soap; if swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.

Important

Food and beverages must not be brought into application areas. Store out of reach of children.
