Product Description

FOX MULTIPLUS® 2K FS542 is a two-component, solvent-free, flexible waterproofing material consisting of a polymer-modified bitumen-rubber component A and a special cement blend component B. Thanks to its crack-bridging capability, it forms a continuous and permanent waterproofing layer that is resistant to structural movements. It can be applied from the positive side on exterior surfaces, reinforced concrete surfaces below ground, foundations and retaining walls, basement retaining walls, and areas such as balconies, terraces and basements. It meets the CB1 (≥1 mm static crack bridging), W1 (0.0075 N/mm² water impermeability under pressure), C2A (0.30 MN/m² compressive strength) and R1 (≤24 hours rain resistance) classifications in accordance with TS EN 15814+A2:2015.

Application Steps

Surface Preparation
The surface to be treated must be sound and free from all oils, grease, rust, paraffin, paint and bitumen residues that could impair adhesion; all loose particles must be removed. Iron and wooden plugs on the surface must be removed, and any active water leaks must be plugged with FOX PLUG FC340. Existing voids, uneven surfaces and corners/edges (chamfer of at least 4 cm) must be repaired with FOX MORTAR FC188 T (R4) repair mortar.

Priming
FOX MULTIPLUS® 2K FS542 component A is diluted with water at a ratio of 1/5 and mixed with an electric mixer at 400–600 rpm for 3–5 minutes. The prepared mixture is applied to the surface in a single uniform coat using a brush. Ponding must not be allowed in horizontal applications. The primer must be allowed to dry before proceeding with the waterproofing layer application. Primer consumption: 0.25 kg/m².

Mixing
Component B is slowly added to FOX MULTIPLUS® 2K FS542 component A while mixing with an electric mixer at 400–600 rpm and a T-shaped mixer attachment for approximately 3–4 minutes until the mixture is homogeneous, then left to rest for 2 minutes. It is then mixed again for 1 minute to make it ready for application. Mixing ratio: 24 kg component A + 8 kg component B. The prepared mixture must be consumed within 1 hour.

Waterproofing Application
After the primer has dried, the prepared FOX MULTIPLUS® 2K FS542 mixture is applied to the surface in two coats by brush or trowel at the specified consumption rates (1st coat: 1.50 kg/m², 2nd coat: 1.50 kg/m²). Backfilling of the foundation must be carried out only after the waterproofing coating has fully dried. Before backfilling, the surface must be covered with drainage boards or thermal insulation panels to protect against impacts and tears that may occur during backfilling.

Tool and Equipment Cleaning
Tools and equipment used after application must be cleaned with water. Once FOX MULTIPLUS® 2K FS542 has hardened, it can be removed from the surface mechanically using solvent.

Critical

FOX MULTIPLUS® 2K FS542 must not be applied if the ambient and surface temperature is below +5°C or above +30°C; application should be postponed until suitable temperatures are reached.

Critical

Application must not be carried out during rain or when rain is likely. Surfaces that have not fully cured must not be exposed to water.

Critical

FOX MULTIPLUS® 2K FS542 must be consumed within 1 hour of mixing.

Important

FOX MULTIPLUS® 2K FS542 must be mixed using a T-shaped mixer attachment (400–600 rpm) as specified in the technical specifications section.

Critical

For exterior surface applications, the applied surface must be protected from sunlight, wind, rain and frost for the first 24 hours.

Important

Particularly in extremely hot weather, the product may increase in consistency due to rapid water loss. To prevent this, water may be added at a rate not exceeding 3% of the total product quantity.

Information

The working and reaction times of bitumen-rubber based systems are affected by ambient and substrate temperature as well as relative humidity. At low temperatures the reaction slows down; high temperatures accelerate the reaction.

Important

The product must be stored in its original unopened packaging, in a cool and dry environment, protected from frost, between +5°C and +30°C. Shelf life is 12 months from the date of manufacture.

Critical

Approaching storage and application areas with open flame is dangerous; areas must be ventilated. Work clothing, protective gloves, goggles and a mask must be worn during application. Contact with skin and eyes must be avoided; in case of contact, wash thoroughly with plenty of water and soap. In case of ingestion, consult a doctor immediately.

Important

Must be stored out of reach of children. Food and beverages must not be brought into application areas.

RETENTION AND DESTRUCTION PERIODS FOR PERSONAL DATA

Your personal data will be stored for the retention periods specified in the relevant legislation or for as long as the processing purposes mentioned above require. At the end of this period, the data will be deleted, destroyed or anonymised in full compliance with the KVKK. In this context, a Personal Data Retention and Destruction Policy and the related procedures have been prepared and are applied.

In order to protect your personal data and to prevent unlawful access to it, our Company takes the necessary administrative and technical measures in line with the Personal Data Security Guide published by the Personal Data Protection Authority, draws up internal procedures, prepares disclosure and explicit consent texts and, pursuant to Article 12/3 of the KVKK, carries out, or has carried out through external services, the audits necessary to ensure the implementation of the provisions of the KVKK.
