Application Steps
- 1
Surface Preparation
The surface to be treated must be sound, free from oil, grease, rust, paraffin, paint, and bitumen residues that would impair adhesion, with all loose particles removed, and dry. Freshly plastered (lime-free) and reinforced concrete surfaces must be allowed to complete a 28-day curing period. Surface irregularities on uneven substrates must be repaired with FOX MORTAR FC188 T, and a 4 cm chamfer must be applied to corners and edges. Deep cracks must be filled with FOX PURSEAL PS600. Care must be taken to prevent water ponding on the waterproofed surface.
- 2
Mixing
FOX WATERPROF® FS100 ELYAFLI must be mixed for 3–5 minutes using a low-speed electric mixer at 400–600 rpm with a suitable mixing paddle.
- 3
Priming
A primer prepared by adding 50% water to FOX WATERPROF® FS100 ELYAFLI must be applied to the surface by brush, roller, or spray.
- 4
Coating
After the primer has dried, FOX WATERPROF® FS100 ELYAFLI must be applied to the surface by brush, roller, or spray to achieve a wet film thickness of 1.00–1.50 mm. After the first coat, a fibre-reinforced waterproofing mesh must be embedded at corners and cracks, followed by the second coat.
- 5
Tinting
The material is produced in white. It can be tinted with paste pigments at a rate not exceeding 5% of the material quantity. After drying, it can be painted with an acrylic-based exterior façade paint.
- 6
Tool Cleaning
Tools and equipment used after application must be cleaned with water. Once FOX WATERPROF® FS100 ELYAFLI has hardened, it can only be removed from the surface mechanically.
FOX WATERPROF® FS100 ELYAFLI is not suitable for water tanks, swimming pools, or foundation waterproofing.
The applied material must be protected from rain and frost for the first 24 hours.
Each coat thickness in applications must not exceed 1.00–1.50 mm.
Must not be applied to wet or damp substrates.
The substrate temperature must be between +5°C and +25°C.
Drying times between coats must be observed.
Precautions must be taken on surfaces that require foot traffic.
FOX WATERPROF® FS100 ELYAFLI freezes at temperatures below 0°C. It must be stored at room temperature, away from direct sunlight, between +5°C and +30°C; shelf life is 12 months from the date of manufacture.
Opened packages must be tightly resealed, stored under appropriate conditions, and used within one week.
During storage and application, contact with skin and eyes must be avoided; in case of contact, wash immediately with plenty of water and soap. If swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.
Work clothing, protective gloves, goggles, and a mask must be worn during application. Storage and application areas must be ventilated.
Freshly plastered (lime-free) and reinforced concrete surfaces must be allowed to complete a 28-day curing period.
The values in the technical specifications are given for +23°C and 50% relative humidity. Higher temperatures shorten the time; lower temperatures extend it.
