Product Description
FOX MULTIPLUS® DUALGUM 1K is a colloidal dispersion polymer-modified, single-component, bitumen-rubber based, water-borne liquid membrane. It is an ultra-high application efficiency, very fast-drying waterproofing material. It is a bitumen emulsion with excellent adhesion to concrete and metal surfaces with high elasticity.
It meets the CB2-W2B-C2B-R2 class requirements of the TS EN 15814+A2 standard: minimum 4 mm crack bridging (CB2), 0.075 N/mm² water impermeability under pressure (W2B), 0.30 MN/m² compressive strength (C2B) and rain resistance within 8 hours (R2). It is solvent-free, water-based and environmentally friendly. Elongation at break is 2000% and recovery at elongation is 80%.
Key Benefits
- Its single-component formula offers practical and fast application under site conditions.
- Provides reliable and documented waterproofing with its TS EN 15814+A2 CB2-W2B-C2B-R2 certified structure.
- Maintains crack bridging performance even at −20°C, performing across a wide service temperature range (−20°C / +80°C).
- Provides impermeability against radon and methane gases, protecting the structure against underground hazards.
- Solvent-free and water-based; can be safely applied in both enclosed and open areas.
- Provides long-lasting resistance against bacterial attack and freeze-thaw cycles underground.
Advantages
- Applied by brush and trowel.
- Easy and fast to apply.
- Provides excellent waterproofing.
- Has crack bridging capability; maintains crack bridging performance even at −20°C.
- Tested and approved for resistance against bacterial attack at 40°C underground for 30 days.
- Can be applied even to fresh concrete.
- Forms a seamless, continuous and permanent waterproofing layer.
- Impermeable to radon gas.
- Blocks methane gas.
- Solvent-free, water-based and environmentally friendly.
- Long-lasting; resistant to water, weak acids and certain salt solutions.
- Resistant to freeze-thaw cycles.
Usage Areas
- From the positive side in vertical applications
- On reinforced concrete surfaces below ground that are in continuous contact with water
- On surfaces such as foundations and retaining walls
- On retaining walls
- In basements and similar underground structures
- For protection of concrete against underground water and microorganisms
- For bonding thermal insulation boards
- Thanks to its chemical composition, it repels plant roots, providing protection
- For resolving foundation pile head details
Application Steps
- 1
Surface Preparation
The surface to be treated must be sound and free from oil, grease, rust, paraffin, paint and bitumen residues, with all loose particles removed. Iron and wooden plugs on the surface must be removed, and any active water leaks must be sealed with FOX PLUG FC 340. Existing voids, uneven surfaces and corner edges (chamfer of at least 4 cm) must be filled with FOX MORTAR T FC 188 T (R4) repair mortar.
- 2
Mixing
MULTIPLUS® DUALGUM 1K must be mixed for 3 minutes using a low-speed electric mixer at 400–600 rpm with the mixing attachment specified in the technical data.
- 3
Priming
MULTIPLUS® DUALGUM 1K is applied to the surface as a primer at approximately 150–200 gr/m² consumption. Allow at least 1 hour for the primer to dry.
- 4
Waterproofing Application
After the primer has dried, MULTIPLUS® DUALGUM 1K is applied in two coats by brush or trowel at the specified consumption rates (1st coat: ~1.25 kg/m², 2nd coat: ~1.25 kg/m²). Once the coating has fully dried, backfilling can be carried out. Prior to backfilling, the surface must be covered with drainage boards and thermal insulation panels to protect against impact and tearing.

Cleaning of Application Tools
After application, tools and equipment used must be cleaned with kerosene, diesel or solvent.
Application should not be carried out if the ambient and surface temperature is below +5°C or above +30°C; appropriate temperatures must be awaited.
Application should not be carried out during rain or when there is a possibility of rain. Surfaces that have not fully cured must not be exposed to water.
Contact with water must not occur until at least 24 hours have elapsed.
Pedestrian traffic is permitted 3 hours after application is complete.
All surfaces to be treated must be sound, stable and free from dirt, dust, loose debris, grease, delamination and blockages.
MULTIPLUS® DUALGUM 1K must be mixed for 3 minutes using a low-speed electric mixer at 400–600 rpm with the mixing attachment specified in the technical data.
In outdoor applications, the product must be protected from sunlight, wind and frost.
The product must be stored between +5°C and +30°C, away from direct sunlight, in a cool and dry environment. It must be protected from frost. Shelf life is 12 months from the date of manufacture.
Once opened, the material should be used as quickly as possible.
It is dangerous to approach storage and application areas with open flame; these areas must be ventilated.
Work clothing, protective gloves, goggles and a mask must be worn during application. Contact with skin and eyes must be avoided; in case of contact, wash thoroughly with plenty of water and soap. In case of ingestion, consult a doctor immediately.
Must be stored out of reach of children.
For short-term storage, pallets must not be stacked more than 2 high and shipments must follow a first-in, first-out system. For long-term storage, pallets must not be stacked on top of each other.
