Product Description
FOX BETON FINISH FD784 is a cement-based decorative coating material modified with special additives, providing a fair-faced concrete (sichtbeton) effect. It is used together with FOX BETON FINISH FOIL. The product has an applicable thickness of approximately 1–2 mm and offers a bond strength of ≥1.5 N/mm² in accordance with EN 13892-8. Its reaction to fire class is EN 13501-1 A2fl and it can be applied to a wide range of interior surfaces. The material is applied with a 4 mm notched trowel or a smoothing trowel and can be tinted with FOX DOMINO COLOR CM pigment. After application is complete, surface protection is provided by applying FOX DOMINO® AC SEALER FD790.

Application Steps
- 1
Surface Preparation
Concrete surfaces to receive the decorative floor coating must be sound and free from all dust and contamination. Weak concrete fragments must be removed from the surface, and small voids and holes must be fully opened up. Voids, cracks and broken concrete on the substrate must be filled and surface evenness must be ensured. FOX MORTAR FC188 T repair mortar must be used for surface repairs and filling of voids.
- 2
Priming – Absorbent Surfaces
Porous, absorbent and lightly sandy surfaces must be primed with FOX PRIMERA® FL220 diluted 1:1 with water.
- 3
Priming – Glossy Surfaces
If necessary, the surface must be mechanically roughened. It must then be primed with FOX UNIPRIMER FL555.
- 4
Priming – Plaster Surfaces
Highly absorbent plasterboard panels must be primed with FOX STUCPRIMER FL888 diluted at a ratio of 1/1–1/3 (product/water) depending on the surface type and absorbency.
- 5
Priming – Smooth Surfaces
To improve surface adhesion, the surface must be primed with FOX DECOPRIMER FL204.
- 6
Mixing
The amount of water indicated on the packaging is poured into a clean mixing container. For 20 kg of product, 200 g (10 g per 1 kg) of FOX DOMINO COLOR CM is added to the mixing water and blended until homogeneous. FOX BETON FINISH FD784 is then added slowly and mixed for approximately 3–4 minutes using a 400–600 rpm electric mixer. The material is left to rest for 30 seconds and then mixed again for 1 minute until ready for application. 4.6±0.05 litres of water must be used for 20 kg of product.
- 7
Application
Care must be taken to ensure the surface is dry before application. The prepared mortar is applied to the surface in a uniform thickness using a 4 mm notched trowel or a smoothing trowel, and the surface is then levelled with the trowel. FOX BETON FINISH FOIL is moistened with water, placed on the surface and spread by pressing with the trowel. Application must be carried out section by section according to the film layer dimensions. With overlapping application, segment transitions are smoother and more homogeneous; with film-joined application, joints are more defined and a stronger texture is achieved.
- 8
Film Layer Removal and Finishing
At normal ambient temperature (+18°C to +20°C), the film layers can be removed from the surface after approximately 24 hours. If a more matt surface is desired, the surface can be lightly sanded with a pad. Finally, FOX DOMINO® AC SEALER FD790 is applied to complete the process.
- 9
Tool and Equipment Cleaning
Tools and equipment used after application must be cleaned with water. Once FOX BETON FINISH FD784 has hardened, it can be removed from the surface mechanically using a solvent.
If the ambient, surface or material temperature is below +5°C or above +30°C, application must not be carried out; appropriate temperature conditions must be awaited.
Application must not be carried out on surfaces with a risk of frost or on excessively hot surfaces.
For the material to complete its curing, the ambient and substrate temperature must not fall below the permitted minimum temperature.
FOX BETON FINISH FD784 must be mixed with the mixing paddle specified in the technical properties section (400–600 rpm electric mixer). No lumps must remain in the material.
At normal ambient temperature (+18°C to +20°C), the film layers can be removed from the surface after approximately 24 hours.
The product must be stored in its original unopened packaging, in a dry and cool environment (between +5°C and +30°C), protected from sunlight and frost. Shelf life is 12 months from the date of manufacture.
Opened packages must be resealed and consumed within 1 week.
Pallets must never be stacked on top of each other during storage; shipment must be carried out on a first-in, first-out basis.
It is dangerous to approach storage and application areas with open flames; these areas must be ventilated.
During application, appropriate work clothing, protective gloves, goggles and a mask must be worn in accordance with occupational health and safety regulations. Contact with skin and eyes must be avoided; in case of contact, wash immediately with plenty of water and soap; if swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.
Food and beverages must not be brought into application areas. The product must be stored out of reach of children.
The technical values above are given at +23°C and 50% relative humidity. Higher temperatures shorten the working time; lower temperatures extend it.
