Product Description

FOX STONECARPET® BINDER T is an epoxy-based, two-component, high-strength aggregate binder specially formulated for vertical applications. It is used to fix specially selected crushed and tumbled natural-coloured aggregates onto vertical surfaces. The product is applied on skirting boards and wall transitions of Stone Carpet floor coverings, as well as on interior vertical surfaces in environments with high aesthetic expectations such as airports, galleries, shopping centres, stores, showrooms and hotels. With a density of 0.95±0.05 g/cm³, the product is light yellow in colour and can be applied within a surface temperature range of +10°C/+30°C. The pot life of the mixture is approximately 45 minutes, and full cure is achieved in 7 days. FOX STONECARPET® BINDER EP must be used on horizontal surfaces; this product is designed for vertical applications only.

Surface Preparation
The concrete substrate to be coated must be opened to a porous surface by removing the cement laitance using abrasive equipment such as shot blasting, milling or diamond grinding. Weak concrete fragments must be removed, small voids and holes must be fully opened, and the resulting dust must be cleaned with an industrial vacuum. Voids, cracks and broken concrete must be filled using FOX MORTAR FC188 T / FOX FASTMORTAR FC245 / FOX FASTMORTAR FC233. For skirting board applications, the corner where the floor meets the wall must also be prepared in the same manner to ensure a continuous transition.

Checking Application Conditions
The surface moisture content must be confirmed to be below 4% by CM measurement or oven-drying method. The absence of rising moisture must be verified using the ASTM polyethylene sheet test. Relative humidity must be a maximum of 80%, and the surface temperature must be at least +3°C above the dew point.

Priming
Surfaces to which FOX STONECARPET® BINDER T is to be applied must be primed in advance with FOX EPOTHANE® PRIMER HB-HD primer. The surface temperature must be a minimum of +10°C. FOX STONECARPET® BINDER T must be applied while the primer is still tacky, before its open time expires.

Mixing
Check that the temperature of components A and B is between +10°C and +30°C. Component A is mixed in its own packaging using an electric mixer at 300–400 rpm. The entire contents of component B are added to component A and mixed for at least 2 minutes until a homogeneous mixture is obtained. The prepared binder is transferred to the mixer containing the aggregates and mixed for a further 2–3 minutes. Do not mix longer than necessary to avoid air entrainment. The mixing time must be kept the same for all batches.

Application
The mixture of FOX STONECARPET® BINDER T and aggregate is applied to the surface by pressing with a trowel while the primer is still tacky, and levelled to the desired thickness. Application must be carried out from bottom to top. The spread material must be pressed firmly with a trowel and compacted thoroughly; equal pressure must be applied across the entire surface, and excessive pressing that causes the resin to bleed to the surface must be avoided. FOX STONECARPET® BINDER EP must be used on horizontal surfaces.

Cleaning of Tools and Equipment
Tools and equipment used must be cleaned with solvents such as FOX CS810 or FOX C380 after application. Once the product has hardened, it can only be removed from the surface by mechanical means.

Critical

The surface temperature of the application area must be a minimum of +10°C and a maximum of +30°C. Application must not be carried out under conditions outside this range.

After the application is completed, the coating must be protected from direct water contact for at least 24 hours. In the event of water contact, the entire coating must be removed and reapplied.

Material that has begun to gel must not be used in application. The pot life is approximately 45 minutes.

The surface moisture content must be below 4%. There must be no rising moisture according to ASTM (polyethylene sheet test).

Care must be taken to ensure that the surface temperature is at least +3°C above the dew point. Dew formation and condensation will damage the coating.

Important

Concrete surfaces to be coated with epoxy/polyurethane must be at least 3 weeks old prior to application. A vapour barrier layer must be created on slabs resting on ground.

Important

Materials to be used must be brought to the application site 1–2 days in advance and allowed to acclimatise to ambient conditions.

Important

In cold weather, packaging should be kept at +20°C–25°C to improve workability of the products before use.

Important

Rain, dust, wind, animals and insects must be prevented from entering the building while the coating is still fresh.

Important

In hot weather, material remaining on the walls of the mixing bucket cures rapidly; equipment must be cleaned at frequent intervals and a new mixing bucket used when necessary.

Important

The product must be stored in its original unopened packaging, in a dry and cool environment (between +5°C and +30°C), protected from sunlight and frost. Shelf life is 12 months from the date of manufacture.

Important

Opened packaging must be resealed and consumed within 1 week. Pallets must not be stacked on top of one another.

Open flames near storage and application areas are dangerous; areas must be ventilated.

Critical

Work clothing, protective gloves, goggles and a mask must be worn during application. Contact with skin and eyes must be avoided; in case of contact, wash thoroughly with plenty of water and soap. If swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.

Important

Food and beverages must not be brought into application areas. The product must be stored out of reach of children.

Information

Technical values are given for +23°C and 50% relative humidity conditions. Higher temperatures shorten the times; lower temperatures extend them.

RETENTION AND DESTRUCTION PERIODS FOR PERSONAL DATA

Your personal data will be stored for the retention periods specified in the relevant legislation or for as long as the processing purposes mentioned above require. At the end of this period, the data will be deleted, destroyed or anonymised in full compliance with the KVKK. In this context, a Personal Data Retention and Destruction Policy and the related procedures have been prepared and are applied.

HOW DO WE PROTECT YOUR PERSONAL DATA?

In order to protect your personal data and to prevent unlawful access to it, our Company takes the necessary administrative and technical measures in line with the Personal Data Security Guide published by the Personal Data Protection Authority, draws up internal procedures, prepares disclosure and explicit consent texts and, pursuant to Article 12/3 of the KVKK, carries out, or has carried out through external services, the audits necessary to ensure the implementation of the provisions of the KVKK.
