Application Steps

  1. 1

    Surface Preparation

Concrete substrates to be coated must be prepared using abrasive equipment such as shot blasting, milling or diamond grinding to remove the cement laitance and achieve an open-porous surface. Weak concrete fragments must be removed, small voids and holes must be fully opened, and the resulting dust must be cleaned with an industrial vacuum cleaner.

  2. 2

    Mixing

Before application, the material must be thoroughly mixed until a homogeneous consistency is achieved.

  3. 3

    Surface Priming

To improve the adhesion of the coating material to the surface, reduce air bubbles and prevent the mixing liquid from being absorbed by the surface, FOX PRIMERA® FL220 is first applied uniformly with a brush or roller. On surfaces with a high absorption risk, the consumption rate should be increased and ponding on the surface must not be allowed. FOX DECOPRIMER FL204 is then applied with a suitable roller. After approximately 4 hours, a paper (masking) tape is applied to check whether the surface is ready; when the tape is removed, there must be no dust on the tape surface.

  4. 4

    Coating Application

Stir the ready-to-use product for approximately 1 minute. Pour FOX DOMINO COLOR WB AC equivalent to 1% of the total weight and mix until the colour is homogeneous. Dampen the surface to be coated. Pour the homogeneous mixture onto the surface and spread it with a suitable trowel.

  5. 5

    Sanding and Cleaning

Once the material has dried, sand the surface with 80-grit sandpaper. After sanding is complete, vacuum the surface with an electric vacuum cleaner and wipe with a damp cloth.

  6. 6

    Top Coat (Optional)

Optionally, the application can be completed by applying FOX PURATHANE® TOPCOAT WB clear matt.

  7. 7

    Tool Cleaning

After application, all tools and equipment used must be cleaned with water before they dry.

Critical

Application should not be carried out if the ambient and surface temperature is below +5°C or above +30°C; suitable temperatures must be awaited.

Critical

Application should not be carried out in extremely hot, rainy or very windy weather.

Critical

For outdoor applications, the surface must be protected from sunlight, rain, wind and frost for the first 24 hours.

Important

To allow the material to fully cure, the temperature of the applied substrate and the ambient temperature must not fall below the permitted minimum temperature.

Information

High temperatures accelerate hydration and shorten the working time; low temperatures extend the working time.

Important

Shelf life is 12 months from the date of manufacture. Opened packages must be resealed and consumed within 1 week.

Important

Must be stored in its original unopened packaging, in a cool and dry environment, protected from frost, between +5°C and +30°C.
