Product Description

FOX DOMINO® BINDER FD773 is a cement-based, high-strength, fast-application pool and deck coating binder. It has been specially developed for the Fox Pebbledeck® Pool & Deck system. The material composition is a cement mixture with a density in the range of 2.2–2.5 gr/cm³. It has a fire classification of A1 according to TS EN 13501. The application temperature must be between +5°C and +35°C and the working time must not exceed 60 minutes. It provides a compressive strength of more than 50 N/mm² at 7 days and more than 60 N/mm² at 28 days. Prior to application, the surface must be primed with a mixture of FOX DOMINO® BINDER FD773, silica sand and FOX BINDER FLEX FM126. During the coating phase, 20 kg of product is mixed with 33 kg of aggregate and 7.50–7.90 litres of water in a mortar mixer. Consumption is approximately 10 kg/m² (for 1 cm thickness) and the product is supplied in 20 kg kraft bags.

Advantages

  • Fast to apply.
  • Can be walked on after 8 hours.
  • Very rapid hardening; load-bearing after 24 hours.
  • Quick return to traffic.
  • Non-combustible.
  • Provides an aesthetic appearance to the surface.

Usage Areas

  • Indoors and outdoors
  • Swimming pools
  • Sunbathing terraces
  • Walkways

Application Steps

  1. 1

    Surface Preparation

The concrete substrates to be coated must be prepared using abrasive equipment (shot blasting, milling, diamond grinding, etc.) to remove the cement laitance and achieve an open-pored surface. Weak concrete fragments must be removed from the surface, and small voids and holes must be fully opened. The resulting dust must be cleaned with an industrial vacuum. Substrate repairs, filling of voids and surface levelling must be carried out with FOX MORTAR FC188 T repair mortar.

  2. 2

    Surface Quality Control

The concrete substrate must be sound and have sufficient compressive strength (minimum 25 N/mm²). Tensile strength must be at least 1.5 N/mm², moisture content a maximum of 4%, and substrate temperature a minimum of +5°C. Ensure that the substrate temperature is at least +3°C above the dew point. The substrate must be clean, dry and free from all foreign matter such as dirt, oil, grease, coatings and surface curing compounds.

  3. 3

    Priming

The surfaces to be coated must be primed beforehand with 2 parts FOX DOMINO® BINDER FD773 + 2 parts 400–1200 micron silica sand and 1 part FOX BINDER FLEX FM126. The substrate temperature (min +5°C) must be strictly observed. Application over the primer must be carried out within the working time.

  4. 4

    Coating (Mixing and Application)

Before starting mixing, ensure that product temperatures are between +5°C and +35°C. For 20 kg of FOX DOMINO® BINDER FD773, mix 33 kg of aggregate and 7.50–7.90 litres of water in a mortar mixer. Avoid over-mixing to minimise air entrainment. Working time is 60 minutes.

Critical

Application temperature must be a minimum of +5°C and a maximum of +35°C. Application must not be carried out outside this range.

Critical

Surface moisture content must be below 4%. Test method: CM measurement or oven-drying method.

Critical

There must be no rising moisture according to ASTM (polyethylene sheet test).

Important

Relative air humidity must be a maximum of 80%.

Critical

Beware of dew formation and condensation! Dew formation and water vapour condensation on uncoated or freshly coated surfaces will damage the coating. Ensure that the substrate temperature is at least +3°C above the dew point.

Critical

During the priming stage, the substrate temperature (min +5°C) must be strictly observed. Application over the primer must be carried out within the working time.

Important

Before starting mixing, ensure that product temperatures are between +5°C and +35°C. Avoid over-mixing to minimise air entrainment.

Important

The product must be stored at room temperature, away from direct sunlight, between +5°C and +35°C. Shelf life is 6 months from the date of manufacture.

Important

Must be stored in its original unopened packaging, in a cool and dry environment, protected from frost during winter months. For short-term storage, stack no more than 3 pallets high. For long-term storage, pallets must not be stacked on top of one another.

Critical

It is dangerous to approach storage and application areas with open flames. Storage and application areas must be ventilated.

Important

During application, appropriate work clothing, protective gloves, goggles and a mask must be worn in accordance with occupational health and safety regulations.

Critical

Must not be allowed to come into contact with skin or eyes. In case of contact, wash immediately with plenty of water and soap; if swallowed, seek medical attention immediately. Food and beverages must not be brought into application areas. Must be stored out of reach of children.
