Product Description
FOX DOMINO® MULTI FD746 is a cement-based surface levelling and decorative coating mortar developed for areas requiring high strength in a short time, containing special mineral fillers. Thanks to its non-shrink structure, it is used for filling, levelling and preparing damaged surfaces, cracks and fractures on walls and floors for coating. The product, which can be applied in a single coat at thicknesses of 2–30 mm, sets rapidly enough to be opened to traffic 2–3 hours after application. It achieves a compressive strength of ≥20.0 N/mm² after 28-day final curing. Mixed with water only, it offers a reliable solution for professional surface preparation applications with ease of application and high adhesion strength (≥1.5 N/mm²).
Advantages
- Gains strength rapidly; can be opened to traffic 2–3 hours after application.
- Provides a decorative finish.
- Mixed with water only.
- Has high compressive strength.
- Does not segregate or bleed water.
- Resistant to freeze–thaw cycles.
Usage Areas
- For use as a decorative finish coat
- For repairing and levelling surface defects on concrete structural elements
- For surface levelling or repair work prior to tile, ceramic, marble and similar coverings
- For achieving a sound and even surface prior to epoxy, polyurethane and similar floor coatings
- For repairing and levelling stair treads and landings
- On surfaces where a slope is required
- For sub-surface repairs prior to self-levelling screed applications
- For levelling concrete surfaces prior to waterproofing and surface levelling of areas repaired with structural repair mortars
- For repairing wall and ceiling plasters
- For achieving a smooth and impermeable surface on concrete surfaces prior to painting
Application Steps
- 1
Surface Preparation
Surfaces to be repaired must be sound and free from all dust and dirt. Broken surfaces to be repaired should be made as vertical as possible. Standing water on surfaces must be drained and removed. Dry surfaces must be dampened.
- 2
Mixing
It is strongly recommended to mix only full and unopened bags. The appropriate amount of clean water as described on the packaging is poured into a clean mixing container. FOX DOMINO® MULTI FD746 is added slowly and continuously into the water while mixing with an electric mixer at 400–600 rpm for approximately 3–4 minutes until homogeneous. There must be no lumps in the material. Consistency must not be adjusted by adding extra water.
- 3
Application
The prepared mortar is applied in a single pass using a trowel at a thickness of 2 mm to 30 mm per coat. The product must be applied within 20 minutes at +20°C.
- 4
Tool Cleaning
Tools and equipment used after application must be cleaned with water. Once FOX DOMINO® MULTI FD746 has hardened, it can only be removed from the surface mechanically.
Mixed with water only; no other additives should be added.
FOX DOMINO® MULTI FD746 must be applied within 20 minutes at +20°C.
Damaged and opened bags must never be used; only full and unopened bags should be mixed.
Consistency must not be adjusted by adding extra water; the required mixing times must be strictly observed before consistency checks.
The ambient and substrate temperature must not fall below the permitted minimum temperature (+5°C) for the material to complete its set.
The working and reaction times of cement-based systems are affected by ambient and substrate temperature and relative humidity. Hydration slows at low temperatures and accelerates at high temperatures.
Opened packaging must be resealed and consumed within 1 week.
The product must be stored between +5°C and +30°C, in a cool and dry environment away from direct sunlight. It must be protected from frost.
Work clothing, protective gloves, goggles and a mask must be worn during application. Contact with skin and eyes must be avoided; in case of contact, wash thoroughly with plenty of water and soap. In case of ingestion, consult a doctor immediately.
Storage and application areas must be ventilated; approaching with open flames is dangerous.
The technical values above are given for +23°C and 50% relative humidity conditions. Values may vary under different temperature and humidity conditions.
For short-term storage, a maximum of 3 pallets may be stacked on top of each other, and shipment should follow a first-in, first-out system. For long-term storage, pallets must not be stacked on top of each other.
