Product Description

FOX CERA® FX105 is a cement-based tile and ceramic adhesive mortar composed of special cement, mineral fillers, and polymer additives. It is suitable for use in interior and exterior applications, in horizontal applications only. It is preferred for laying small and medium-sized ceramic and tile covering materials with a water absorption rate above 3% on all types of concrete screed, plaster, screed, and cement-based surfaces. It can be used with covering materials up to a maximum size of 33 cm × 33 cm. It meets the requirements of TS EN 12004-1:2017 class C1 and provides a minimum adhesion strength of 0.5 N/mm² in initial tensile, water immersion, heat ageing, and freeze-thaw cycle tests according to EN 12004-2:2017. The reaction to fire classification is A1 according to TS EN 13501-1.

Application Steps

Surface Preparation
Cement-based surfaces to be applied must be sound, free from all dust and dirt, and level. Areas requiring repair must be repaired with INNO-CRETE series repair mortars at least 1 day in advance. If the surface temperature is above +25°C, the surface should be lightly dampened.

Mixing
The appropriate amount of water indicated on the packaging is poured into a clean mixing container. The FOX CERA® FX105 bag is opened and slowly added to the water while mixing with a mixing drill at 400–600 rpm for approximately 3–4 minutes until homogeneous. There must be no lumps in the material. After a maturation period of 3 minutes, mix for a further 1 minute to make it ready for application. Mixing ratio: approximately 6.00±0.25 litres of water per 25 kg bag; approximately 240±10 ml of water per 1 kg.

Application
A 1 mm thick layer of FOX CERA® FX105 is applied to the application surface using the flat side of the trowel. Within the open time of 20 minutes, the trowel is drawn in a single direction with a notched trowel over an area that can be covered, to achieve a uniform thickness. For ceramic or tile of varying thickness, it is recommended to also apply a 1 mm thick layer of mortar to the back of the covering material. The ceramics are floated into the mortar to ensure full contact. The application is completed leaving appropriate joint spacing.

Workability Test
Press a finger into the adhesive; if it sticks to the finger, application can continue. If it does not stick, the open time has passed; the adhesive must be scraped from the surface and fresh adhesive applied.

Grouting
Approximately 24 hours after the adhesive has hardened, grouting can begin. INNO-FIX series grouts must be used to fill the joint gaps.

Tool Cleaning
Tools and equipment used after application must be cleaned with water. Once FOX CERA® FX105 has hardened, it can only be removed from the surface mechanically.

Application should not be carried out if the ambient and surface temperature is below +5°C or above +30°C; appropriate temperatures must be awaited.

Application should not be carried out in extremely hot, rainy, or very windy weather.

In outdoor applications, the surface must be protected from sunlight, rain, wind, and frost for the first 24 hours.

Walking on the ceramic and tile surface and applying grout can only begin after 24 hours.

The open time is limited to 20 minutes. If the adhesive does not stick to the finger, the application time has passed; the surface must be scraped and fresh adhesive applied.

Important

High temperatures accelerate hydration and shorten the working time; low temperatures extend the working time. During the curing period, the ambient and substrate temperature must not fall below the permitted minimum.

Important

The product must be stored in its original unopened packaging, in a dry and cool environment (between +5°C and +30°C), protected from sunlight and frost. Shelf life is 12 months from the date of manufacture.

Important

Opened packages must be resealed and consumed within 1 week.

Important

For short-term storage, a maximum of 2 pallets may be stacked on top of each other; for long-term storage, pallets must not be stacked.

Critical

Work clothing, protective gloves, goggles, and a mask must be worn during application. Contact with skin and eyes must be avoided; in case of contact, wash thoroughly with plenty of water and soap. In case of ingestion, consult a doctor immediately.

It is dangerous to approach storage and application areas with open flames; areas must be ventilated.

Important

Food and beverages must not be brought into application areas. Store out of reach of children.

Information

Technical values are given for +23°C and 50% relative humidity conditions.

RETENTION AND DESTRUCTION PERIODS FOR PERSONAL DATA

Your personal data will be stored for the retention periods specified in the relevant legislation or for as long as the processing purposes mentioned above require. At the end of this period, the data will be deleted, destroyed or anonymised in full compliance with the KVKK. In this context, a Personal Data Retention and Destruction Policy and the related procedures have been prepared and are applied.

HOW DO WE PROTECT YOUR PERSONAL DATA?

In order to protect your personal data and to prevent unlawful access to it, our Company takes the necessary administrative and technical measures in line with the Personal Data Security Guide published by the Personal Data Protection Authority, draws up internal procedures, prepares disclosure and explicit consent texts and, pursuant to Article 12/3 of the KVKK, carries out, or has carried out through external services, the audits necessary to ensure the implementation of the provisions of the KVKK.
