Product Description
FOX FUGAMORTAR FX100 XL is a cement and polymer based flex grout consisting of mineral fillers, synthetic additives and special polymers. It is designed for use in the joints of marble, travertine, granite, solnhofen stone and similar sensitive natural stones, as well as on brick surfaces. Suitable for joint widths of 5-20 mm. Meets the TS EN 13888:2010 – CG2WA standard: combining the classifications CG2 (cement-based grout with improved additional properties), W (reduced water absorption) and A (high abrasion resistance). Resistant to vibrations and expansion/contraction caused by temperature differences. Can be applied at surface temperatures between +5°C and +30°C; service temperature is guaranteed between -20°C and +80°C. Becomes walkable approximately 6-8 hours after application. Its special formulation, which does not cause staining at the edges of sensitive natural stones, ensures a clean and decorative appearance.
Advantages
- Easy to prepare and apply.
- Provides crack-free hardening; the joint does not crack or crumble.
- Fast hardening, quickly washable and walkable after approximately 6 hours; delivers effective service.
- Waterproof and frost-resistant.
- Versatile use in interior and exterior applications.
- The curing process is independent of temperature; the ideal washing time is virtually the same at both low and high temperatures.
- Does not cause staining at the edges of sensitive natural stones.
- High filling volume.
Usage Areas
- In interior and exterior applications, vertical and horizontal
- In heated screeds, on balconies and terraces
- For grouting natural stone floors such as marble, travertine, granite and solnhofen stone
- For joint widths of 5-20 mm
Application Steps
- 1
Surface Preparation
Before starting the grouting application, the adhesive must be allowed to gain sufficient strength; a waiting period of 48 hours is generally sufficient. Mortar residues in the joints must be cleaned out and the joints cleared. Joints of highly absorbent materials must be moistened before filling.
- 2
Mixing
Pour the amount of clean water specified on the packaging into a clean mixing container. Open the FOX FUGAMORTAR FX100 XL bag and slowly add it to the water while mixing with a drill mixer at 400-600 rpm for approximately 4 minutes until homogeneous. There must be no lumps in the material. Allow the material to rest for approximately 30 seconds, then mix again for 1 minute to make it ready for application. Mixing ratio: approximately 6.00±0.25 lt of water per 20 kg bag; approximately 300±10 ml of water per 1 kg.
- 3
Application
Apply the mixed material into the joints using a rubber float with diagonal movements. For deep joints, allow the material to settle first, then repeat the process. In extremely hot weather and on absorbent surfaces, lightly moisten the joints with a damp sponge before application. Once the material left to dry has reached a firmness that resists finger pressure, finish the surfaces with a damp sponge and clean any remaining material from the tile surface.

Tool Cleaning
After application, tools and equipment used must be cleaned with water. Once FOX FUGAMORTAR FX100 XL has hardened, it can only be removed from the surface mechanically.
Before starting the grouting application, the adhesive must be allowed to gain sufficient strength; a waiting period of 48 hours is generally sufficient.
Using varying amounts of mixing water during application will cause colour variations in the grout; applications must be carried out without changing the water quantity.
Excessive water will weaken the material and may lead to powdery crumbling and cracking.
The application substrate temperature must be between +5°C and +30°C. Application must not be carried out outside this range.
Joints of highly absorbent materials must be moistened before filling.
In extremely hot weather and on absorbent surfaces, the grout material may lose its water rapidly, causing surface cracking; joints should be lightly moistened with a damp sponge before application.
Sawdust must not be used for surface cleaning.
Once FOX FUGAMORTAR FX100 XL has hardened, it can only be removed from the surface mechanically.
The product must be stored at room temperature, away from direct sunlight, between +5°C and +30°C. Shelf life is 12 months from the date of manufacture.
Opened packages must be resealed and consumed within 1 week.
For short-term storage, pallets may be stacked no more than 3 high; for long-term storage, pallets must not be stacked on top of each other.
It is dangerous to approach storage and application areas with open flame; areas must be ventilated.
Work clothing, protective gloves, goggles and a mask must be worn during application.
During storage and application, contact with skin and eyes must be avoided; in case of contact, wash immediately with plenty of water and soap; if swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.
Must be stored out of reach of children.
The above technical values are given at +23°C and 50% relative humidity. Higher temperatures shorten the time, lower temperatures extend it.
