FOX READY FX125 is a polymer dispersion-based, ready-to-use, non-slip, high-adhesion flexible ceramic tile adhesive paste. Suitable for all types of climatic conditions, it can be used in horizontal and vertical applications both indoors and outdoors. Optimised for wall tiles, the adhesive is suitable for bonding mosaics and similar materials to virtually all absorbent surfaces such as plaster render, plasterboard, plywood and wood. The product meets the TS EN 12004-1:2017 D2T standard, combining improved dispersion adhesive (D2) and reduced slip (T) properties. With good initial adhesion, a long open time and easy workability, it can also be reliably used for large-format tiles and for bonding over existing tile layers.

Application Areas

Application Steps

  1. 1

    Surface Preparation

The surface must be flat, clean, dry, load-bearing and free from oil and cracks. Irregularities greater than 3 mm must be levelled. Plaster-like and highly absorbent surfaces must contain a maximum of 2% moisture and must be primed; plaster finish coats must consist of a single layer at least 10 mm thick. Loose paint layers must be removed. Moisture checks must be carried out on cementitious surfaces prior to application; damp surfaces must be allowed to dry for at least 1 week.

  2. 2

    Adhesive Application

FOX READY FX125 is applied thinly to the surface using the flat side of the trowel. The notched side of the trowel is then used to comb the adhesive in a single direction to achieve a uniform thickness. When laying ceramic or floor tiles, the covering materials are floated into the adhesive to ensure full contact. Application is completed by leaving the recommended joint spacing for the appropriate tile size.

  3. 3

    Trowel Selection and Consumption

For glass mosaics up to 15×20 cm: notched trowel No. 4 (~1.50 kg/m²). For standard ceramic wall tiles (20×25 cm): notched trowel No. 6 (~2.20 kg/m²). For ceramics up to 30×45 cm and irregular/ribbed surfaces: notched trowel No. 8 (~2.90 kg/m²). For ceramics up to 30×60 cm: notched trowel No. 10 (~3.30 kg/m²).

  4. 4

    Open Time Test

Press a finger onto the adhesive applied to the surface. If the adhesive sticks to the finger, application can continue. If it does not stick, the open time has expired; the adhesive must be scraped off and fresh adhesive applied.

  5. 5

    Grouting

Grouting can be carried out at least 24 hours (recommended: min. 3 days) after the bonding operation. INNO-FIX Series grout fillers must be used to fill the joints.

  6. 6

    Tool Cleaning

Tools and equipment used after application must be cleaned with water. Once FOX READY FX125 has hardened, it can only be removed from surfaces mechanically.

Critical

FOX READY FX125 must not be used outdoors, on floor installations or in areas subject to continuous water exposure (swimming pools and water tanks).

Critical

If the substrate temperature is below +5°C, the area must be heated.

Critical

If the ambient or surface temperature is below +5°C or above +30°C, application must be postponed until suitable temperatures are reached. Application must also be avoided in extremely hot, rainy or very windy conditions.

Important

For outdoor applications, protect from sunlight, rain, wind and frost for the first 24 hours.

Important

If the adhesive's open time has elapsed (does not stick to the finger), the existing adhesive must be scraped off and fresh adhesive applied.

Important

Plaster-like and highly absorbent surfaces must contain a maximum of 2% moisture and must be primed. Plaster finish coats must consist of a single layer at least 10 mm thick.

Important

On damp surfaces, allow every area of the surface to dry for at least 1 week.

Important

Grouting can be carried out at the earliest after 24 hours (recommended: min. 3 days).

Information

Working and reaction times for ceramic tile adhesives are affected by air temperature, humidity and substrate temperatures. High temperatures accelerate hydration; low temperatures slow it down.

Important

Opened packaging must be resealed and consumed within 1 week.

Important

The product must be stored protected from frost, at between +5°C and +30°C, in a cool and dry place away from direct sunlight. Shelf life is 12 months from the date of manufacture.

Critical

It is dangerous to approach storage and application areas with open flames; these areas must be ventilated.

Important

Appropriate work clothing, protective gloves, goggles and a mask must be worn during application. In case of contact with skin or eyes, wash thoroughly with plenty of water and soap; if swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.

Important

Must be stored out of reach of children.
