Product Description

FOX ALPHACOAT FF900 RENKLİ is an acrylic resin-based material formulated with special additives for the protection and colouring of all types of concrete surfaces. With a density of 1.01±0.05 kg/lt, the product provides a coloured glossy final appearance. The flash point is +30°C; drying time is 2–4 hours, and the inter-coat application time is 12–24 hours. The substrate temperature during application must be between +10°C and +30°C. It can be applied by brush, roller, or a solvent-resistant spray pump. Prior to application, one coat of FOX ALPHACOAT FF900 clear product must be applied as a primer. A minimum of 2 coats is recommended for optimum performance. As the product contains solvents, it is flammable; the necessary safety precautions must be taken during application and storage.

Advantages

  • Easy to apply and use.
  • Resistant to oil and fuel residues.
  • Provides protection against all weather conditions and fungal growth on surfaces.
  • Prevents dusting and provides a harder surface.
  • Results in a smooth surface that is extremely easy to clean.
  • Provides resistance to abrasion.
  • Penetrates deeply to impart a vibrant appearance.
  • Resistant to freeze–thaw cycles and UV.
  • Can be applied by brush, roller, and spray machine.
  • When applied on exterior facades, it is vapour-permeable.
  • Has water-repellent properties.

Usage Areas

  • All types of old or new concrete
  • Exposed aggregate concrete site concrete
  • Concrete floor sports areas
  • Walkways

Application Steps

  1. 1

    Surface Preparation

The concrete substrates to be coated must be prepared using abrasive equipment (shot blasting, milling, diamond grinding, etc.) to remove the cement laitance and achieve an open-pore surface. Weak concrete particles must be removed from the surface, and small voids and holes must be fully opened. The resulting dust must be cleaned using an industrial vacuum. INNO-CRETE repair mortars must be used for substrate repairs, filling of voids, and surface levelling.

  2. 2

    Checking Application Conditions

Freshly cast concrete must be allowed to complete a minimum curing period of 28 days. The surface moisture content must be below 4%, and there must be no rising damp according to ASTM (polyethylene sheet test). Relative air humidity must be a maximum of 80%; attention must be paid to condensation and dew formation. The substrate temperature must be at least +3°C above the dew point.

  3. 3

    Mixing

FOX ALPHACOAT FF900 RENKLİ must be mixed with an electric mixer operating at 400–600 rpm until a homogeneous consistency is achieved.

  4. 4

    Primer Application

Before commencing application of FOX ALPHACOAT FF900 RENKLİ, one coat of FOX ALPHACOAT FF900 clear product must be applied as a primer coat.

  5. 5

    Coloured Coat Application

24 hours after the primer application, FOX ALPHACOAT FF900 RENKLİ is applied in coats using a brush, roller, or a solvent-resistant spray pump. Inter-coat application should be carried out 6–12 hours later, depending on the ambient temperature. A minimum of 2 coats must be applied for optimum performance. The number of coats may be increased depending on the surface absorbency.

  6. 6

    Tool Cleaning

After application, the tools and equipment used must be cleaned with solvent.

Critical

The substrate temperature during application must be a minimum of +10°C and a maximum of +30°C. The ambient and material temperatures must also be kept within the same range.

Critical

When applying to freshly cast concrete, the concrete must be allowed to complete a minimum curing period of 28 days.

Critical

The surface moisture content must be below 4%. There must be no rising damp according to ASTM (polyethylene sheet test).

Critical

The substrate temperature must be at least +3°C above the dew point. Condensation and water vapour condensation will damage the coating.

Critical

Water must never be added to FOX ALPHACOAT FF900 RENKLİ under any circumstances.

Critical

As the material contains solvents, it is flammable. Approaching application and storage areas with open flames is dangerous; application areas must be thoroughly ventilated, smoking must not be permitted in the area, and care must be taken to avoid electrical short circuits.

Important

Condensation and water vapour condensation on uncoated or freshly coated substrates will damage the coating.

Important

Relative air humidity must be a maximum of 80%.

Important

Work clothing, protective gloves, goggles, and a mask must always be worn during application. Contact with skin and eyes must be avoided; in case of contact, wash thoroughly with plenty of water and soap; if swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.

Important

Opened containers must be resealed and consumed within 1 week.

Important

Store in the original unopened packaging in a cool, dry place, protected from frost. For short-term storage, stack no more than 3 pallets high; for long-term storage, pallets must not be stacked on top of one another.

Information

Food and beverages must not be brought into application areas. Store out of reach of children.

Information

The technical values above are given for conditions of +23°C and 50% relative humidity. Higher temperatures shorten the times; lower temperatures extend them.
