FOX Beton & Bodenfarbe FF920 (formerly: FOX AC TOPCOAT FF920) is a single-component, water-based acrylic, high abrasion-resistant, tyre-mark resistant, multi-purpose, ready-to-use concrete and floor paint. As the product contains pigments and fillers, it must be stirred thoroughly before application; it must not be thinned. A minimum of 2 coats is recommended; the product is applied by roller and can be used at surface, ambient and material temperatures between +5°C and +30°C. Before application, the surface must be primed with FOX EPOTHANE PRIMER WB COLORED. Once cured, it provides high chemical resistance, UV stability and a durable surface.

Surface Preparation
Concrete substrates must be treated with abrasive equipment such as shot blasting, milling or diamond grinding to remove laitance and achieve an open-pored surface. Weak concrete sections must be removed and voids and holes fully opened. The resulting dust must be cleaned with an industrial vacuum. Cracks and voids must be filled with FOX FASTMORTAR FC245 or FOX FASTMORTAR FC233 to ensure a level surface.

Primer Application
Before applying FOX BETON & BODENFARBE FF920, the surface must be primed with FOX EPOTHANE PRIMER WB COLORED. A waiting period of at least 16 hours and no more than 48 hours must be observed after primer application. The primer must be completely dry and have achieved adequate adhesion to the substrate; if in doubt, a cross-cut adhesion test should be performed. If these time windows are not observed, the primer surface must be sanded with 120-grit sandpaper and re-prepared.

Mixing
FOX BETON & BODENFARBE FF920 is single-component and ready to use; however, as it contains pigments and fillers, it must be homogenised with an electric mixer operating at 300–400 rpm before application. The product must not be thinned.

Coating Application
The product must be applied to the surface using a roller. To minimise roller marks, successive coats should be applied wet-on-wet. Application should proceed along the short edge, with each new pass starting immediately adjacent to the previous one. A second roller pass over the material ensures uniform distribution and eliminates roller marks. The recoat interval is a minimum of 2 hours depending on ambient temperature. A minimum of 2 coats is recommended for optimum performance; the number of coats may be increased depending on surface porosity.

Application over Existing Coatings
If applying over an existing coating, the surface must first be sanded with 120-grit sandpaper and then primed with FOX EPOTHANE PRIMER WB COLORED. FOX BETON & BODENFARBE FF920 application may commence 24 hours after the primer application.

Tool Cleaning
Tools and equipment used during application can be cleaned with water. Once FOX BETON & BODENFARBE FF920 has cured, it can only be removed from the surface by mechanical means.

Concrete surfaces to be coated must have completed a minimum curing period of 28 days.

The moisture content of the surface must be below 4%. There must be no rising moisture according to ASTM (polyethylene sheet test).

Relative air humidity must be a maximum of 80%.

Surface temperature, ambient temperature and material temperature must be a minimum of +5°C and a maximum of +30°C.

Beware of dew point and condensation! The floor temperature must be at least +3°C above the dew point.

After application is complete, the coating must be protected from direct water contact for at least 24 hours. Water contact will cause the coating to soften and blister; in this case the coating must be completely removed and reapplied.

FOX BETON & BODENFARBE FF920 application must begin at least 16 hours and no more than 48 hours after the primer application (FOX EPOTHANE PRIMER WB COLORED) is complete. If these time windows are not observed, the primer surface must be sanded with 120-grit sandpaper and re-prepared.

The recoat interval is a minimum of 2 hours and a maximum of 48 hours.

Materials to be used should be brought to the application site 1–2 days in advance and allowed to acclimatise to ambient conditions.

In cold weather, packaging should be kept at +20°C – +25°C before use to bring the material to application-ready condition.

Important

Rain, dust, wind, animals and insects must be prevented from entering the application area while the coating is still fresh.

Important

The product must be stored in its original packaging, in a cool and dry environment, between +5°C and +30°C, protected from frost and direct sunlight. Shelf life is 12 months from the date of manufacture.

Important

For short-term storage, pallets may be stacked no more than 3 high; for long-term storage, pallets must not be stacked.

Open flames near storage and application areas are dangerous; areas must be adequately ventilated.

Critical

During application, appropriate work clothing, protective gloves, goggles and a mask must be worn in accordance with occupational health and safety regulations. Contact with skin and eyes must be avoided; in case of contact, wash thoroughly with plenty of water and soap. If swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.

Important

Food and beverages must not be brought into application areas. The product must be stored out of reach of children.

Information

Consumption figures are given for ideal conditions assuming an ambient and surface temperature of 20°C. Consumption may increase on uneven surfaces and in cold weather conditions.

RETENTION AND DESTRUCTION PERIODS FOR PERSONAL DATA

At the end of this period, the data will be deleted, destroyed or anonymised in full compliance with the KVKK. In order to protect your personal data and to prevent unlawful access to it, our Company takes the necessary administrative and technical measures in line with the Personal Data Security Guide published by the Personal Data Protection Authority, draws up internal procedures, prepares disclosure and explicit consent texts and, pursuant to Article 12/3 of the KVKK, carries out, or has carried out through external services, the audits necessary to ensure the implementation of the provisions of the KVKK.
