Product Description
FOX PROCRETE® PRIMER is a solvent-free, three-component primer set specially designed for industrial floors, obtained by modifying polyurethane-based resins with special additives and chemicals. With a density of 1.20 g/cm³, this product in an off-white colour adheres excellently to concrete substrates, with a pull-off strength exceeding 3.60 N/mm² (concrete failure). FOX PROCRETE® PRIMER can be applied easily by roller, trowel or zero-notch squeegee, and can be applied to 7-day-old new concrete or to old concrete with high moisture content without the need for a special primer. At +23°C and 50% relative humidity, the pot life is 30 minutes, and a minimum of 24 hours and a maximum of 72 hours must be allowed before applying a subsequent coating.

Surface Quality Inspection
The concrete substrates to be coated must be sound and have sufficient compressive strength (minimum 25 N/mm²), a tensile strength of at least 1.5 N/mm², and a floor temperature of at least +8°C. Ensure that the substrate temperature is at least +3°C above the dew point. The substrate must be clean, dry and free from foreign matter (dirt, oil, grease, coatings, curing compounds, etc.).

Surface Preparation
Concrete substrates must be prepared using abrasive equipment such as shot blasting, milling or diamond grinding to remove laitance and achieve an open-pore surface. Weak concrete sections must be removed, and small voids and holes must be fully opened up. The resulting dust must be removed with an industrial vacuum. For substrate repairs and filling of voids, a mortar made from 60–70 AFS (0.1–0.3 mm) quartz sand mixed with FOX PROCRETE® PRIMER should be used.

Material Conditioning
Materials to be used on the application area should be brought to the site and stored 1–2 days in advance to allow them to acclimatise to ambient conditions. Before mixing, ensure that the product temperatures are between +15°C and +25°C.

Mixing
Since FOX PROCRETE® PRIMER is a three-component product, achieving a homogeneous mix is essential. The use of a COLLOMIX CX 22 or similar mixer is recommended. Component A is placed in a polyethylene mixing bucket. Component B is added entirely to Component A and mixed for 1 minute until a homogeneous mixture is obtained. Component C is then added entirely to the A+B mixture and mixed for 3 minutes until a homogeneous mixture is obtained. Avoid over-mixing to minimise air entrainment. After mixing, the material should be allowed to rest and then mixed again.

Application
Apply FOX PROCRETE® PRIMER by roller, trowel or zero-notch squeegee. A mix consumption of 150–200 g/m² should be used. Ensure that the application covers the entire surface without voids.

Tool Cleaning
After application, tools and equipment used should be cleaned with solvent. Xylene is recommended for cleaning.

Curing and Waiting Period
After applying FOX PROCRETE® PRIMER, a minimum of 24 hours and a maximum of 72 hours must be allowed before applying any subsequent coating. If more than 72 hours have elapsed, re-priming is required.
Application must not be carried out if the ambient or surface temperature is below +8°C or above +30°C; appropriate temperatures must be awaited.
Application must not be carried out in extremely hot, rainy or windy weather.
After applying FOX PROCRETE® PRIMER, a minimum of 24 hours and a maximum of 72 hours must be allowed before applying any subsequent coating. If more than 72 hours have elapsed, re-priming is required.
FOX PROCRETE® PRIMER Component A freezes below 0°C; particular attention must therefore be paid to storage conditions.
Beware of dew point and condensation. Dew formation and water vapour condensation on uncoated or freshly coated surfaces will damage the coating. To prevent this, the floor temperature must be above +8°C.
Before mixing, ensure that the product temperatures are between +15°C and +25°C. The use of a COLLOMIX CX 22 or similar mixer is strongly recommended to achieve a homogeneous mix. Avoid over-mixing to minimise air entrainment.
After mixing, the material should be allowed to rest and then mixed again.
Materials to be used on the application area should be brought to the site and stored 1–2 days in advance to allow them to acclimatise to ambient conditions.
In extremely cold weather, heaters should be used to raise the ambient and floor temperature; materials to be used should be conditioned at +20°C to +25°C and made ready for application.
Opened packages must be resealed and consumed within 1 week.
Store in original unopened packaging in a cool, dry place at temperatures between +5°C and +30°C, protected from frost. For short-term storage, stack no more than 3 pallets high. For long-term storage, pallets must not be stacked on top of one another.
It is dangerous to approach storage and application areas with open flames; these areas must be ventilated.
During application, appropriate work clothing, protective gloves, goggles and a mask must be worn in accordance with occupational health and safety regulations. Avoid contact with skin and eyes; in case of contact, wash thoroughly with plenty of water and soap. If swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.
Food and beverages must not be brought into application areas. Store out of reach of children.
The technical values above are given at +23°C and 50% relative humidity. Higher temperatures shorten the times; lower temperatures extend them.
The product shelf life is 6 months when stored correctly at room temperature, away from direct sunlight, between +5°C and +30°C from the date of manufacture.
After application, tools and equipment used should be cleaned with solvent (preferably xylene).
