FOX HISTOCRETE HORASAN is a natural hydraulic lime-based, ready-to-use decorative plaster mortar formulated without cement, containing silica aggregate, inorganic mineral fibres (6 mm length) and natural brick dust. With a grain size of 0–3 mm, the product can be applied by trowel at thicknesses of 3–10 mm. Compressive strength exceeds 15 kg/cm² after 7 days according to TS EN 196. Thanks to homogeneously distributed inorganic mineral fibres, a continuous repair surface is achieved without shrinkage cracking. Its composition free of water-soluble salts makes it safe for use in the restoration of historic masonry structures. It is asbestos-free and environmentally friendly. Consumption is 1.7 kg/m² per 1 mm thickness, and the product is supplied in 20 kg polyethylene-reinforced kraft bags.

Product Description
Key Benefits
- Long-lasting repair surfaces are achieved thanks to mineral fibre reinforcement that prevents shrinkage cracking.
- Its cement-free formula allows application without damaging historic masonry and stone structures.
- As it contains no water-soluble salts, the risk of chemical damage in historic building restoration is minimised.
- Controlled production processes ensure consistent and homogeneous mortar quality on every project.
- Wide range of applications; a single product suitable for interior and exterior plastering, joint repair, surface repair and historic building restoration.
- Its asbestos-free, environmentally friendly composition protects the health of users and the environment.
Advantages
- Thanks to specially selected inorganic mineral fibres homogeneously distributed throughout the mix, a shrinkage-free mortar is obtained; a continuous repair surface is achieved on the applied substrate.
- Due to continuously controlled production, the use of ready-mix mortar ensures consistent product quality on every project; achieving mix homogeneity in site-prepared mortars is extremely difficult.
- FOX HISTOCRETE HORASAN plaster, which contains no water-soluble salts, is one of the best products that can be recommended for the restoration of historic masonry structures.
- Since brick dust has pozzolanic properties, it behaves in accordance with the traditional Horasan mortar mechanism.
- It is asbestos-free and environmentally friendly.
Usage Areas
- In historic structures and locations where a historic building effect is desired (cisterns, water wells, aqueducts, bath structures, etc.)
- For interior and exterior plastering
- For the repair of existing plaster
- For the repair of natural stone and brick wall joints
- For surface repairs
Application Steps
- 1
Surface Preparation
Surfaces to be repaired and plastered must be sound, dust-free and clean. The surface must be free of foreign matter that would reduce adhesion, such as dirt, oil, grease, coatings and surface curing compounds. If water is running down the surface, it must be sealed with a suitable plugging mortar. The wall surface must be dampened before applying FOX HISTOCRETE HORASAN; however, there must be no free water (running water) present.
- 2
Mixing
An appropriate quantity of clean water is measured and placed in a mixing bucket. FOX HISTOCRETE HORASAN is added gradually and mixed with a mixer at 400–600 rpm for 3–4 minutes until a homogeneous, lump-free mix is obtained. After resting for approximately 4 minutes, the mix is stirred again for 30 seconds and is then ready for use. Water ratio: 0.30–0.32 litres per 1 kg of powder; 6.0–6.4 litres per 20 kg bag.
- 3
Application
The prepared mortar is applied by trowel at a thickness of 3–10 mm. The mortar is allowed to absorb water; the surface is then sprinkled with water using a plastering brush and finished to the desired texture with a steel or wooden float. In multi-coat applications, each layer must be 3–10 mm thick; the previous layer must be dampened before applying the next coat, and the new layer must be applied before the previous layer has fully hardened.
- 4
Curing and Protection
Large surfaces exposed to the atmosphere must be protected against rapid evaporation with hessian cloth or water for 24–48 hours after application in hot, dry or windy conditions. For exterior surface applications, the surface must be protected from sun, wind, rain and frost.
- 5
Tool Cleaning
Tools and equipment used must be cleaned with water after application. Once FOX HISTOCRETE HORASAN has hardened, it can only be removed from the surface by mechanical means.
During application, ambient and surface temperature must not fall below +5°C or exceed +35°C.
For the material to complete its set, ambient and substrate temperature must not drop below the permitted minimum temperature.
For exterior surface applications, the surface must be protected from sun, wind, rain and frost for the first 24–48 hours after application.
The wall surface to which FOX HISTOCRETE HORASAN is to be applied must be pre-wetted to improve the adhesion and setting time of the mortar.
There must be no free water on the surface that would impair adhesion; if water is running down the surface, it must be sealed with a suitable plugging mortar.
In multi-coat applications, each layer must be 3–10 mm thick; the previous layer must be dampened before applying the next coat and the new layer must be applied before the previous layer has fully hardened.
Once opened, the product must be stored under appropriate conditions and used within one week.
The product must be stored in its original packaging, in a cool and dry environment, away from direct sunlight and protected from frost. For short-term storage, no more than 2 pallets should be stacked on top of each other.
Appropriate work clothing, protective gloves, goggles and a mask must be worn during application. Contact with skin and eyes must be avoided; in case of contact, wash thoroughly with plenty of water and soap. In case of ingestion, seek medical attention immediately.
It is dangerous to approach storage and application areas with open flames; areas must be ventilated.
Food and beverages must not be brought into application areas. The product must be stored out of reach of children.
The technical values above are given for +23°C and 50% relative humidity conditions. Higher temperatures shorten the setting/curing time; lower temperatures extend it.
