Product Description
FOX PLUG FC340 PLUS is a repair and waterproofing mortar containing special cement and mineral fillers, capable of instantly stopping active water leaks. The product offers only 30 seconds of working time from mixing and achieves full cure within 1–2 minutes. It can be applied directly as a powder or mixed with water and used as a mortar. Compliant with TS EN 1504-3 standard class R2, it reaches a compressive strength of 65 N/mm² at 28 days. As it contains no chlorides, it does not harm steel reinforcement. A waterproofing material can be applied over it after 10–15 minutes.
Key Benefits
- Active water leaks are instantly stopped within 30 seconds, eliminating time loss in emergency interventions.
- Full cure in 1–2 minutes allows work to continue rapidly.
- Two different application methods — as powder or mortar — provide flexibility.
- A waterproofing material can be applied over it after 10–15 minutes, keeping the work schedule on track.
- Contains no chlorides, protecting steel reinforcement against corrosion.
- Compliance with TS EN 1504-3 class R2 allows confident use in structural repair projects.
Advantages
- Ready to use.
- Can be applied either as a powder or mixed with water as a mortar.
- Achieves high early strength.
- Sets instantly to stop flows and leaks.
- A waterproofing material can be applied over it after 10–15 minutes.
- Provides excellent adhesion to the applied surface.
- Chloride-free; does not damage reinforcement.
Usage Areas
- Foundations
- Basement retaining walls
- Elevator shafts
- Water tanks, reservoirs
- Sealing (plugging) of voids with or without water pressure
- Tunnels, underground structures
Application Steps
- 1
Surface Preparation
Surfaces to be repaired must be sound and free from all dust, grease, and residues. Cold joints and cracks must be opened to a minimum depth and width of 20 mm in a conical shape.
- 2
Mixing
270 ml of water is added to 1 kg of FOX PLUG FC340 PLUS and mixed. For the 7 kg package, 1.89 litres of water must be added.
- 3
Application as Mortar
Place the quantity to be consumed within 1 minute into a clean application container; add water according to the mixing ratio. Mix by hand using appropriate protective gloves. Apply immediately to leaks and holes and press by hand for a period of time.
- 4
Application as Powder
Take a small amount of material in the palm of the hand and press it onto the leak in a single motion. Press and rub by hand until the material sets. Gloves must be worn throughout this process.
- 5
Tool Cleaning
Tools and equipment used must be cleaned with water immediately after application. Once FOX PLUG FC340 PLUS has hardened, it can only be removed from the surface mechanically.
If the ambient or substrate temperature during FOX PLUG FC340 PLUS application is below +5°C or above +30°C, appropriate temperature conditions must be provided or the application must be postponed.
FOX PLUG FC340 PLUS sets as a result of elevated hydration heat. For this reason, it must be kept moist for 10–15 minutes after application.
Working and reaction times of cement-based repair mortars are affected by air temperature, humidity, and substrate temperatures. High temperatures accelerate hydration and shorten working time; low temperatures extend working time.
In cold-weather applications, to achieve workability of the material, it should be conditioned in a warm environment between +20°C and +25°C and the mix should be prepared with warm water.
The mixed mortar must be prepared in quantities that can be consumed within 1 minute. The working time is only 30 seconds.
Appropriate protective gloves must always be worn during application; gloves are mandatory for both the mortar and powder application methods.
Work clothing, protective gloves, goggles, and a mask must be worn to prevent the product from coming into contact with skin or eyes. In case of contact, wash immediately with plenty of water and soap; if swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.
The product must be stored in its original unopened packaging, in a cool and dry environment, protected from frost. When stored correctly at room temperature, away from direct sunlight, between +5°C and +30°C, the shelf life is 6 months from the date of manufacture.
Opened packages must be resealed and consumed within 1 week.
For short-term storage, a maximum of 3 pallets may be stacked on top of each other and shipments must follow a first-in, first-out system. For long-term storage, pallets must not be stacked on top of each other.
It is dangerous to approach storage and application areas with open flames; areas must be ventilated.
Food and beverages must not be brought into application areas. The product must be stored out of reach of children.
