Product Description
FOX PURATHANE® SF ADHESİVE is a polyurethane-based, two-component, solvent-free rubber adhesive. Specially designed for sports floors, it is used for bonding SBR rubber, EPDM rubber sheets, artificial grass carpet and artificial granite slabs, as well as latex, polyurethane and rubber-backed carpets. It securely bonds rubber floor coverings to concrete, metal and asphalt. It is also suitable for bonding prefabricated lightweight walls containing polyurethane, wood, cork and metallic foils, and for installing tiles and sound-insulating cork or SBR panels in areas such as bathrooms and kitchens. The product is applied between +10°C and +30°C; full curing takes place in 7 days. Adhesion strength on concrete is >1.7 N/mm² and the working time is 40 minutes. Available as a 10 kg set (Component A + Component B).
Advantages
- Suitable for indoor and outdoor use.
- Solvent-free.
- Provides flexible bonding.
- Can be easily applied with a notched trowel.
- Fast curing; surfaces become suitable for foot traffic in a short time.
- Resistant to impacts.
Usage Areas
- Indoors and outdoors
- Bonding SBR rubber, EPDM rubber sheets, artificial grass carpet and artificial granite slabs
- Bonding latex, polyurethane and rubber-backed carpets
- Bonding rubber floor coverings to concrete, metal and asphalt
- Bonding prefabricated lightweight walls made with polyurethane, wooden boards, cork and metallic foils
- Bonding tiles and sound-insulating panels made of cork or SBR on floors in areas such as bathrooms and kitchens
Application Steps
- 1
Surface Preparation
The concrete substrates to be coated must be opened to a porous surface by removing the cement laitance using abrasive equipment such as shot blasting, milling or diamond grinding. Weak concrete fragments must be removed, small voids and holes must be fully opened, and the resulting dust must be cleaned with an industrial vacuum. Substrate repairs and surface levelling must be carried out with FOX SSL® series levelling screed.
- 2
Checking Application Conditions
The surface moisture content must be below 4% (to be checked by CM measurement or oven-drying method), and there must be no rising moisture according to ASTM (polyethylene sheet test). Relative air humidity must be a maximum of 80%, and the substrate temperature must be at least +3°C above the dew point.
- 3
Acclimatisation of the Product
Materials to be used should be brought to the application site 1–2 days in advance and allowed to acclimatise to ambient conditions. In cold weather, packaging should be kept at +20°C–+25°C before use to bring it to application-ready condition.
- 4
Mixing
Component A (containing pigment and filler) must be thoroughly mixed using an electric mixer at 300–400 rpm and a suitable epoxy/polyurethane resin mixing paddle until no product remains at the bottom and sides of the container and a homogeneous colour is achieved. Component B must then be added entirely into Component A and mixed continuously for 3–4 minutes. Over-mixing should be avoided to minimise air entrainment.
- 5
Application
FOX PURATHANE® SF ADHESİVE must be spread onto the substrate using a suitable notched trowel. The covering can be bonded to the substrate 15–20 minutes after spreading. Applying moving or static pressure to the bonded surfaces is important for adhesive performance, as it ensures that the entire surface to be bonded makes uniform contact with the adhesive.
- 6
Tool and Equipment Cleaning
Tools and equipment used must be cleaned with solvent or polyurethane thinner after application. Once FOX PURATHANE® SF ADHESİVE has cured, it can only be removed from the surface by mechanical means.
Application temperature must be a minimum of +10°C and a maximum of +30°C. Application must not be carried out outside this range.
The moisture content of the concrete substrate must be a maximum of 4%. This must be checked by CM measurement or oven-drying method.
There must be no rising moisture according to ASTM (polyethylene sheet test).
After application is complete, the coating must be protected from direct water contact for at least 24 hours. In the event of water contact, softening and blistering will occur on the coating; the coating must be completely removed and reapplied.
Concrete surfaces to be coated with epoxy/polyurethane must be at least 3 weeks old prior to application.
Mixing must be carried out with an electric mixer at 300–400 rpm and the specified epoxy/polyurethane resin mixing paddle. Otherwise, air bubbles will form on the coating.
Relative air humidity must be a maximum of 80%. Attention must be paid to dew point and condensation. The substrate temperature must be at least +3°C above the dew point.
Materials to be used should be brought to the application site 1–2 days in advance and allowed to acclimatise to ambient conditions.
In cold weather, packaging should be kept at +20°C–+25°C before use to bring it to application-ready condition.
Rain, dust, wind, animals and insects must be prevented from entering the building while the coating is still fresh.
The product must be stored between +5°C and +30°C, away from direct sunlight, at room temperature. Shelf life is 6 months from the date of manufacture.
Must be stored in its original unopened packaging, in a cool and dry environment, protected from frost. For short-term storage, no more than 2 pallets should be stacked on top of each other.
It is dangerous to approach storage and application areas with open flames; these areas must be ventilated.
Work clothing, protective gloves, goggles and a mask must be worn during application. Contact with skin and eyes must be avoided; in case of contact, wash thoroughly with plenty of water and soap. In case of ingestion, seek medical attention immediately.
Food and beverages must not be brought into application areas. Must be stored out of reach of children.
Consumption figures are given for ideal conditions at +20°C. It should be noted that consumption will increase on uneven surfaces and in cold weather conditions.
Technical values are given for +23°C and 50% relative humidity conditions. Higher temperatures shorten the time; lower temperatures extend it.
