Carpark Deck Coating Systems • RAL 7035 Light Grey • 5543 RB

Carpark is a coating system that creates a surface resistant to vehicle traffic, fuel and oil on car park and garage floors. Thanks to its crack bridging capability, it accommodates movement in the concrete slab and prevents water ingress. The choice of OS class determines the layer build-up and the crack bridging performance.

Product Description

Carpark systems are designed for the heavy vehicle traffic of open and enclosed car parks. The coating protects the concrete against chlorides and carbonation while providing a non-slip driving surface; on ramps and turning areas, grip is increased by broadcasting aggregate.

Key Benefits

  • High mechanical and chemical resistance
  • Easy to clean, dust-free surface
  • Long lasting and easy to maintain
  • Can be applied in different colour options

Advantages

  • It is suitable for basement floors and ramps.
  • It has high chemical and mechanical resistance.
  • It is easy to clean.
  • It is long lasting.
  • It offers different colour options

Application Steps

  1. 1

    Surface Preparation

The floor is opened up by milling or shot blasting; dust, oil and loose particles are completely removed.

  2. 2

    Primer

A primer suited to the surface moisture is selected; quartz sand is broadcast onto the fresh primer.

  3. 3

    Intermediate Layers

Depending on the type of system, waterproofing and/or a wearing layer is applied.

  4. 4

    Top Coat

The top coat is applied in the selected colour and left to cure in a dust-free environment.

Which surfaces can the system be applied to?

It is applied to sound, load-bearing floors with sufficient surface tensile strength. The surface moisture must not exceed 4%.

When can it be put into use after application?

It can be opened to light use 24 hours after the top coat application and to full load after 7 days.

Can it be applied over an existing coating?

If the adhesion and strength of the existing coating are sufficient, it can be applied after surface preparation.

Critical

The surface moisture must not exceed 4%. At high moisture levels the primer adhesion drops and blistering occurs.

Important

Application must not be carried out without observing the waiting times between coats.

Information

Slight shade variations may occur between different production batches; using a single batch in the same area is recommended.
