Product Description

FOX EPOMORTAR FC510 is an epoxy resin-based, two-component anchoring, fixing and repair mortar. It complies with TS EN 1504-4:2008 and TS EN 1504-6:2008 standards and is classified under Repair Method 4.4. Component A consists of epoxy resin and Component B consists of epoxy hardener. It is solvent-free and bonds excellently to concrete and steel. Its thixotropic structure prevents sagging. With high chemical resistance and water impermeability, it is ideal for demanding structural repairs, rebar installation, anchor fixing and crack injection operations. Application thickness ranges from 2 mm to 30 mm and it offers a pot life of 45 minutes after mixing.

Application Steps

    Surface Preparation – Concrete, Stone, Mortar

    The surface to be treated must be free of loose particles, oil, dust and standing water, and any other substances that would adversely affect the adhesion of the material.

    Surface Preparation – Steel

    Rusty surfaces must be sandblasted to remove rust.

    Surface Preparation – Other (Ceramic, Glass, Epoxy, etc.)

    Such surfaces must first be primed with FOX EPOTHANE® PRIMER, and then FOX EPOMORTAR FC510 must be applied while the primer is still wet.

    Mixing

    Before starting to mix, ensure that the material temperatures are between +10°C and +30°C. Component B is fully emptied into Component A. Taking care that no unmixed material remains on the sides or bottom of the packaging, mix for at least 3 minutes using an electric mixer at 400–600 rpm with a suitable mixing attachment.

    Application

    When used as an adhesive, the homogeneous mixture is applied to the prepared surface with a spatula, trowel or notched trowel; application thickness must be between 2 mm and 30 mm. For anchoring applications, a suitable mortar gun must be used. Holes for anchoring must be drilled at least 6 mm larger than the anchor rod and cleaned with a wire brush and compressed air. After filling the hole, the anchor rod must be inserted with a rotating motion.

    Tool Cleaning

    After application, tools and equipment used must be cleaned with solvents such as FOX CS810 or FOX C380. Once the product has cured, it can only be removed by mechanical means.

FOX EPOMORTAR FC510 must never be mixed by hand or with a trowel; it must be mixed with a suitable mixing drill (400–600 rpm) for at least 3 minutes.

Solvents or similar substances must never be added to the FOX EPOMORTAR FC510 mixture.

Material temperatures and ambient temperature must be between +10°C and +30°C before mixing and application; falling below the minimum permitted temperature will adversely affect curing.

For the material to complete its cure, the substrate and ambient temperature must not fall below a minimum of +10°C throughout the application.

Important

The working and curing times of epoxy resin-based products depend on the ambient and substrate temperature. Higher temperatures shorten the time; lower temperatures extend it.

Opened packages must be consumed within 1 week with their lids closed.

Important

The product must be stored between +5°C and +30°C, away from direct sunlight, in a cool and dry environment, protected from frost. Shelf life is 12 months from the date of manufacture.

Approaching storage and application areas with open flames is dangerous; areas must be ventilated.

Work clothing, protective gloves, goggles and a mask must be worn during application. Contact with skin and eyes must be avoided; in case of contact, wash thoroughly with plenty of water and soap; if swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.

Holes for anchoring must be at least 6 mm larger than the anchor rod and must be cleaned with a wire brush and compressed air.

Information

Once FOX EPOMORTAR FC510 has cured, it can only be removed by mechanical means; tools and equipment must be cleaned immediately with solvent after application.
