Product Description
FOX INJECTION PUR FLEXIBLE FC415 is a high-performance flexible injection material based on polyurethane resin, consisting of two components (resin + isocyanate catalyst). It is formulated to stop water ingress in reinforced concrete structures, tunnel segments, expansion joints, and crack zones subject to movement. Upon contact with water, it expands by forming foam; thanks to its high expansion factor, it effectively fills cracks and joints. Complies with EN 1504-5 standard. Solvent-free. By adjusting the mixing ratio and catalyst quantity, the reaction time and expansion factor can be set to the desired values.
Advantages
- Bonds well to wet surfaces.
- Forms a flexible plug or gasket in joints or cracks.
- Can be applied with an injection pump.
- Reacts with water to form foam.
- High expansion factor.
- Economical.
- Solvent-free.
Usage Areas
- Stopping water ingress in reinforced concrete structures, zones subject to movement, and expansion joints
- Filling and repair of construction joints
- Stopping water coming from the negative side
- Filling voids around the face and repairing gaskets as protective isolation material at the TBM face
- Stopping water ingress at tunnel segment joints
- Membrane injection works used in tunnel construction
- Curtain injection works behind tunnel segments
- Stopping water leaks in tunnel lining concrete and diaphragm walls
Application Steps
- 1
Surface Preparation
The plaster on the surface should be removed so that the entire crack plane can be identified. The concrete surface to be treated must be freed from dust, oil, and construction debris, and any damaged or loose concrete pieces must be removed. If there is water leakage on the surface, it should be drained or sealed with FOX PLUG FC340.
- 2
Drilling and Packer Installation
Depending on the width, depth, and ambient conditions of the crack, holes should be drilled in a staggered pattern from both sides of the crack plane at appropriate intervals (~15–90 cm). The holes must be drilled deep enough to penetrate through the crack plane to the other side and at an angle of approximately 45° to the crack plane. The drilled holes should be blown out with air to remove dust and loose particles, and packers should be driven in and tightened to secure them.
- 3
Surface Sealing
After all packers have been installed, the areas around the packers and over the crack should be coated with FOX EPOMORTAR FC510 to ensure sealing.
- 4
Pre-Water Injection in Dry Conditions
In dry conditions, water should first be injected into the packers; this will ensure that the water in the crack reacts with the resin.
- 5
Material Preparation
Before starting mixing, ensure that the material temperature is between +15°C and +25°C. FOX INJECTION PUR FLEXIBLE FC415 should be mixed with 2% to 10% accelerator, depending on the desired reaction time, using a suitable mechanical mixer and mixing tip until a homogeneous mixture is obtained.
- 6
Injection Application
Injection should begin no earlier than 12 hours after the surface coating has been applied. The prepared mixture is placed into the single-component injection pump reservoir, and injection is started from the lowest packer at an appropriate pressure between 14 and 200 bar, depending on the crack dimensions, reinforced concrete thickness, and general conditions. When the material begins to emerge from the next packer up, the hose is connected to that packer and the process is continued in the same manner up to the topmost packer. The application is completed when material emerges from the topmost packer.

Finishing
Packer tips can be cut at least 24 hours after the application of FOX INJECTION PUR FLEXIBLE FC415, for subsequent applications to the surface.
Ambient temperature, humidity level, and water temperature are parameters that affect the accelerator usage rate. Trials taking these factors into account should be conducted to determine the appropriate accelerator usage rate.
The working and reaction times of resin-based systems are affected by ambient temperature, substrate temperature, and relative humidity. Chemical reactions slow down at low temperatures; high temperatures accelerate chemical reactions.
For the material to complete its cure, the ambient and surface temperature must not fall below the permitted minimum temperature.
Solvents or similar thinners must not be added to the mixture during application.
Mixing must be carried out exclusively with suitable mechanical mixers; hand mixing must not be performed.

Before starting mixing, ensure that the material temperature is between +15°C and +25°C.
When stored correctly at room temperature, away from direct sunlight, between +5°C and +30°C, the shelf life is 6 months from the date of manufacture.
Store in the original unopened packaging in a cool, dry place, protected from frost. For short-term storage, stack no more than 3 pallets high; for long-term storage, pallets must not be stacked on top of each other.
It is dangerous to approach storage and application areas with open flames; these areas must be ventilated.
During application, appropriate work clothing, protective gloves, goggles, and a mask must be worn in accordance with occupational health and safety regulations.
Avoid contact with skin and eyes during storage and application. In case of contact, wash immediately with plenty of water and soap; if swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.
Food and beverages must not be brought into application areas. Store out of reach of children.
