Product Description

FOX INJECTION PUR GEL FC425 is a low-viscosity, elastic, solvent-free, two-component polyurethane injection resin. The product cures without requiring contact with water and, upon gelation, forms a smooth, waterproof and permanently elastic layer. It provides long-term waterproofing in dry, damp or water-bearing cracks and joints in concrete, brick, masonry and natural stone surfaces, accommodating limited structural movements. Components A and B are mixed in a 1:1 ratio and applied with a two-component injection pump at pressures between 14 and 200 bar. The Shore A hardness value is 50, the gelation time is 1 day, and the full cure time is 7 days.

Key Benefits

  • Provides effective waterproofing in dry, damp and wet cracks.
  • Accommodates limited crack movements thanks to its permanently elastic structure.
  • Can be applied safely under variable substrate conditions as it cures without contact with water.
  • Solvent-free formulation ensures safe use in enclosed and semi-enclosed spaces.
  • Low viscosity enables deep and homogeneous penetration into fine cracks.
  • 1:1 mixing ratio and two-component pump allow systematic and controlled application.

Advantages

  • Permanently elastic; capable of accommodating limited movements.
  • Provides permanent waterproofing.

Usage Areas

  • For permanent waterproofing of dry, damp or water-bearing cracks and joints in concrete, brick, masonry and natural stone surfaces
  • In cracks and joints subject to limited movement

Application Steps

  1. 1

    Surface Preparation

The plaster on the surface must be removed so that the entire crack plane can be identified. The concrete surface to be treated must be freed from dust, oil and construction debris, and any damaged or loose concrete pieces must be removed.

  2. 2

    Drilling

Depending on the width, depth and ambient conditions of the crack, holes must be drilled in a staggered pattern from both sides of the crack plane at appropriate intervals (~15 – 90 cm). The holes must be deep enough to penetrate through the crack plane to the other side and must be drilled at an angle of approximately 45° to the crack plane (reference value: structural thickness / 2).

  3. 3

    Packer Installation

The drilled holes must be blown out with air to remove dust and loose particles; packers must then be driven in and tightened to secure them. After all packers have been installed, the areas around the packers must be sealed with FOX EPOMORTAR FC510 to ensure watertightness.

  4. 4

    Pre-Wetting (In Dry Conditions)

In dry conditions, water must first be injected into the packers. This will allow the water in the crack to react with the resin. Depending on ambient and weather conditions, injection must not begin until at least 12 hours later.

  5. 5

    Mixing

FOX INJECTION PUR GEL FC425 is mixed by combining components A and B in a 1:1 ratio using a suitable mechanical mixer until a homogeneous consistency is achieved. Before starting mixing, ensure that the material temperature is between +10°C and +25°C. Hand mixing must not be performed.

  6. 6

    Injection Application

The prepared mixture is placed into the reservoir of a two-component injection pump and injection is started from the lowest packer at an appropriate pressure between 14 and 200 bar, depending on the crack dimensions and reinforced concrete thickness. When material begins to emerge from the next packer up, the injection hose must be connected to that packer and the same procedure continued up to the topmost packer. When material emerges from the topmost packer, the application is considered complete.

Critical

During application, ambient and surface temperature must not fall below +10°C or exceed +35°C.

Critical

For the material to complete its cure, ambient and surface temperature must not drop below the permitted minimum temperature.

Critical

Before starting mixing, ensure that the material temperature is between +10°C and +25°C.

Critical

During application, solvents or similar thinners must not be added to the mixture.

Critical

Mixing must be carried out exclusively with suitable mechanical mixers. Hand mixing must not be performed.

Important

Before use in water-bearing cracks under hydrostatic pressure, apply FOX INJECTION PUR FC410 or FOX INJECTION PUR FLEXIBLE FC415.

Important

The working and reaction times of resin-based systems are affected by ambient and substrate temperature as well as relative air humidity. At low temperatures the chemical reaction slows down; high temperatures accelerate the reaction.

Important

Store in the original unopened packaging in a cool, dry environment, protected from frost. For short-term storage, stack no more than 3 pallets high; for long-term storage, pallets must not be stacked.

Critical

Open flames near storage and application areas are dangerous; these areas must be ventilated.

Important

During application, appropriate work clothing, protective gloves, goggles and a mask complying with occupational health and safety regulations must be worn.

Critical

During storage and application, avoid contact with skin and eyes; in case of contact, wash thoroughly with plenty of water and soap; if swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.

Important

Food and beverages must not be brought into application areas. Store out of reach of children.

Information

Shelf life is 6 months from the date of manufacture when stored at room temperature (+5°C to +30°C), away from direct sunlight and under correct storage conditions.
