Product Description

FOX PROBASIC FE210 is a lime and cement-based, water-repellent fine plaster containing mineral fillers, polymer-reinforced special cement and lime. It is applied on dry concrete-based wall and ceiling surfaces in interior and exterior spaces; it is compatible with mineral-based surfaces such as brick, breeze block, concrete, reinforced concrete, natural stone and pumice block. Thanks to its 0–1.0 mm grain size, it provides a smooth surface and can be applied in a single coat at a thickness of 10–15 mm. It meets the requirements of General Purpose Plaster (GP), compressive strength class CSII, capillary water absorption class Wc2 and fire reaction class A1 according to EN 998-1:2016. It is applied with a plastering trowel or float; the surface is levelled to the desired level and flatness by drawing a straightedge. Full curing time is 28 days at +20°C.

Advantages

  • Suitable for plastering dry walls in basements, kitchens, bathrooms and laundry rooms.
  • Has water-repellent properties.
  • Is water vapour permeable.
  • Allows coarse and fine plaster to be applied together in a single coat.
  • Provides cost advantage and ease of control.
  • Thanks to its homogeneous structure, it provides high adhesion and strength at every point of the surface.
  • Provides a smooth surface for the final coat.
  • Also suitable as a substrate for ceramic tiles in interior applications only.

Usage Areas

  • Used as a water-repellent plaster on dry concrete-based wall and ceiling surfaces in interior and exterior spaces.
  • Used on mineral-based surfaces such as brick, breeze block, concrete, reinforced concrete, natural stone and pumice block.

Application Steps

  1. 1

    Surface Preparation

Adjacent surfaces that must not be contaminated should be protected with waterproof covers. Surfaces must be protected from adverse weather conditions; if necessary, work should be postponed. The surface must be clean, dry, frost-free and sound; dirt, dust, old paint and loose particles must be removed. Rough and absorbent walls should be pre-treated with INNO-CRETE series repair mortars before application. In hot weather conditions, surfaces must be dampened with water. While the mortar is beginning to set, the treated surface should be combed horizontally with a suitable notched tool; this process must be completed before FOX PROBASIC FE210 is applied.

  2. 2

    Priming

On smooth fair-faced concrete walls and ceilings, FOX CONTACT PRIMER® FL101 primer should be applied with a coral roller before application; plastering should commence after 24 hours. Porous, absorbent and lightly sandy surfaces should be primed with FOX PRIMERA® FL220 diluted 1:1 with water.

  3. 3

    Mixing

The appropriate amount of water indicated on the packaging is poured into a clean mixing container. FOX PROBASIC FE210 is slowly added to the water while mixing with an electric mixer at 400–600 rpm for approximately 3–4 minutes until homogeneous. There must be no lumps in the material. After allowing the material to rest for 30 seconds, it is mixed again for 1 minute and made ready for application. Mixing ratio: approximately 5±0.25 litres of water per 25 kg/bag; approximately 200±10 ml of water per 1 kg.

  4. 4

    Application

The application thickness in a single coat should be between 10 mm and 15 mm. The prepared mortar is applied with a plastering trowel or float. After the mortar is applied, while still fresh, a straightedge is drawn across the surface to bring it to the desired level and flatness.

  5. 5

    Tool Cleaning

Tools and equipment used after application should be cleaned with water. Once FOX PROBASIC FE210 has hardened, it can only be removed from the surface mechanically.

Critical

It is recommended to carry out plastering between +5°C and +30°C.

Important

In windy conditions, the surface must be protected against rapid drying.

Critical

Not suitable for use on lightweight, porous or thermally insulating surfaces. Must not be applied onto thermal insulation boards.

Critical

No lime, cement, gypsum or similar additives should be added to the product.

Important

In hot weather conditions, two-coat application is recommended to prevent the risk of cracking caused by rapid drying.

Important

The use of plaster mesh at column-beam and wall junctions is recommended.

Critical

In showers, bathrooms and similar wet areas, a suitable waterproofing system must be applied before the cladding application. The moisture content of the plaster by mass must be below 1% before starting the cladding application.

Important

The use of a metal float for the final surface finishing is not recommended; use of a metal float may cause fine shrinkage cracks on the surface.

Information

The specified water mixing ratio is valid for 25 kg of dry product at +23°C and 50% relative humidity. The amount of water may be adjusted depending on ambient conditions.

Important

The product should be stored in its original unopened packaging, in a dry and cool environment (between +5°C and +30°C), protected from sunlight and frost. Shelf life is 12 months from the date of manufacture.

Important

Opened packages must be resealed and consumed within 1 week.

Critical

During application, appropriate work clothing, protective gloves, goggles and a mask must be worn in accordance with occupational health and safety regulations. Avoid contact with skin and eyes; in case of contact, wash thoroughly with plenty of water and soap. If swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.
