Product Description

FOX PROHAND® RAPID LWT is a lightweight, cement-based repair, correction, and levelling plaster and mortar applied in thicknesses of 3–40 mm, which can be overcoated after just 3 hours. Its special cement structure with mineral fillers and polymer reinforcement provides high adhesion and strength. Compressive strength reaches ≥15.0 N/mm² and bond strength ≥1.5 N/mm². It can also be applied with a standard gypsum plastering machine; one 20 kg bag yields approximately 16.6 L of mortar. Application is recommended at substrate temperatures between +5°C and +30°C; full curing time at +20°C is 28 days.

Advantages

  • Can be tiled with ceramic after just 3 hours.
  • Easy and fast application.
  • Rough and finish coat applied together in a single layer.
  • Cost advantage and ease of control.
  • Provides high adhesion and strength at every point of the surface thanks to its homogeneous structure.
  • Provides a smooth surface for the final coat.

Usage Areas

  • On interior and exterior walls and ceilings
  • On cement and gypsum surfaces
  • On new and existing walls
  • Used for plastering on brick, breeze block walls, pumice block, concrete, fair-faced concrete, aerated concrete, and ceiling surfaces

Application Steps

  1. 1

    Surface Preparation

Surfaces to be plastered must be free from mould release agents, loose particles, dust, and any conditions that would adversely affect the adhesion of the plaster. Cracks and holes in the surface must be repaired using the appropriate FOX INNO-CRETE series repair mortars. In hot weather conditions, surfaces must be moistened with water.

  2. 2

    Mixing

The appropriate amount of water indicated on the packaging is poured into a clean mixing container. FOX PROHAND® RAPID LWT is slowly added to the water while mixing with an electric mixer at 400–600 rpm for approximately 2–3 minutes until a homogeneous consistency is achieved. No lumps must remain in the material. After allowing the material to rest for 1–2 minutes during the maturation period, it is mixed again for 1 minute and is ready for application. Approximately 5.0±0.20 lt of water should be used per 20 kg/1 bag.

  3. 3

    Priming

On porous and highly absorbent surfaces, FOX PRIMERA® FL220 primer must be applied as specified in the product technical data sheet. On non-porous and non-absorbent surfaces, FOX STUCPRIMER FL888 primer must be applied. On smooth fair-faced concrete surfaces, aerated concrete walls, concrete ceilings, and concrete walls, FOX PRIMERA® FL220 must be applied in one coat, followed by FOX CONTACT PRIMER® FL101 applied with a coral roller; plastering may commence after 24 hours. For primer selection on other surfaces, please contact the technical department.

  4. 4

    Coating (Application)

Application is carried out using a plastering trowel in a single coat to achieve a thickness of 3–40 mm. Once the plaster has sufficiently hardened, the surface is scratched and finished with a damp sponge. It can also be applied with a standard gypsum plastering machine; approximately 16.6 L of mortar can be produced from a 20 kg bag. After approximately 3 hours, cement-based adhesive can be applied; after 12–24 hours, acrylic-based adhesive; and after approximately 36 hours, plaster or natural stone cladding can be applied.

  5. 5

    Cleaning of Tools

Tools and equipment used after application must be cleaned with water. Once FOX PROHAND® RAPID LWT has hardened, it can only be removed from the surface mechanically.

Critical

Plastering must be carried out at temperatures between +5°C and +30°C. Application outside this range must not be performed.

Critical

No lime, cement, gypsum or similar additives must be added to the product.

Critical

For the strength of the product, the surface must be wetted at regular intervals within 7 days after application.

Important

In windy conditions, the surface must be protected against rapid drying.

Important

In hot weather conditions, a two-coat application is recommended to prevent the risk of cracking caused by rapid drying.

Important

The use of plaster mesh at column-beam and wall junctions is recommended.

Important

In hot weather conditions, surfaces must be moistened with water.

Important

Opened packages must be resealed and consumed within 1 week.

Information

When stored at room temperature, away from direct sunlight, between +5°C and +30°C, the shelf life is 12 months from the date of manufacture.
