Product Description

FOX PROHAND® ELYAFLI is a cement-lime based, ready-to-use hand-applied render containing mineral aggregates, polymer-reinforced special cement and polypropylene fibres. It can be safely used in both interior and exterior applications, including wet rooms. In accordance with EN 998-1:2016, it meets the classifications GP (general purpose render mortar), CS IV (≥6 N/mm² compressive strength), W2 (capillary water absorption ≤0.20 kg/m²·min⁰·⁵) and A1 (non-combustible). A single-coat application fulfils both the scratch coat and finish coat functions; it can be applied at a minimum thickness of 3 mm and a maximum of 10 mm. Its homogeneous structure provides high adhesion and strength, and creates a smooth surface for final coat coverings.

Advantages

  • Provides easy and fast application.
  • Lighter to apply compared to traditional renders.
  • Water-repellent properties.
  • Enables both scratch coat and finish coat in a single application.
  • Provides cost advantage and ease of control.
  • Thanks to its homogeneous structure, it delivers high adhesion and strength at every point of the surface.
  • Provides a smooth surface for the final coat covering.

Usage Areas

  • Used for rendering brick, blockwork, pumice block, concrete, fair-faced concrete, aerated concrete and ceiling surfaces in interior and exterior applications.

Application Steps

  1. 1

    Surface Preparation

Surfaces to be rendered must be free from mould release agents, loose particles, dust and any conditions that would adversely affect the adhesion of the render. Cracks and holes in the surface must be repaired using the appropriate INNO-CRETE series repair mortars. In hot weather conditions, surfaces must be moistened with water. On aerated concrete walls, a spatter coat must be applied using FOX MORTAR FC188 T repair mortar 72 hours before the render application. On smooth fair-faced concrete surfaces, concrete ceilings and walls, FOX CONTACT PRIMER® FL101 primer must be applied with a coral roller prior to application; render application must commence 24 hours later.

  2. 2

    Mixing

The appropriate quantity of water stated on the packaging (approximately 6±0.25 litres for a 25 kg bag) is poured into a clean mixing container. FOX PROHAND® ELYAFLI is slowly added to the water while mixing with an electric mixer at 400–600 rpm for approximately 3–4 minutes until a homogeneous consistency is achieved. No lumps must remain in the material. The material is left to rest for 30 seconds and then mixed again for 1 minute before it is ready for application.

  3. 3

    Application

The application thickness per coat must be between 3 mm and 10 mm. The prepared mortar is applied using a rendering trowel or float. It is levelled with an aluminium straightedge. Once the render has sufficiently hardened, the surface is finished with a devil float and the application is completed with a damp sponge.

  4. 4

    Cleaning of Application Tools

Tools and equipment used after application must be cleaned with water. Once FOX PROHAND® ELYAFLI has hardened, it can only be removed from the surface mechanically.

Critical

Render application must be carried out at temperatures between +5°C and +30°C. Application must not be performed outside this temperature range.

Critical

Within 7 days after application, the surface must be wetted at regular intervals to allow the product's strength to develop.

Critical

No lime, cement, gypsum or similar materials must be added to the product.

Critical

On aerated concrete walls, a spatter coat must be applied using FOX MORTAR FC188 T repair mortar 72 hours before the render application.

Critical

On smooth fair-faced concrete surfaces, concrete ceilings and walls, FOX CONTACT PRIMER® FL101 primer must be applied with a coral roller prior to application, and render application must commence 24 hours later.

Important

Precautions must be taken against rapid drying in windy conditions.

Important

In hot weather, a two-coat application is recommended to prevent the risk of cracking caused by rapid drying.

Important

The use of render mesh at column, beam and wall junctions is recommended.

Important

In hot weather conditions, surfaces must be moistened with water.

Important

The product must be stored in its original unopened packaging, in a dry and cool environment (between +5°C and +30°C), protected from sunlight and frost. Shelf life is 12 months from the date of manufacture.

Important

Opened packages must be resealed and consumed within 1 week.

Critical

During storage and application, contact with skin and eyes must be avoided; in case of contact, wash immediately with plenty of water and soap. If swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.

Important

During application, appropriate work clothing, protective gloves, goggles and a mask in accordance with occupational health and safety regulations must be worn.

Important

Open flames near storage and application areas are dangerous; areas must be ventilated.

Important

Food and beverages must not be brought into application areas. The product must be stored out of reach of children.

Information

The technical values above are given for +23°C and 50% relative humidity conditions. Higher temperatures shorten the times; lower temperatures extend them.
