Product Description

FOX PROMATIC® is a cement and lime-based, polymer-reinforced, ready-to-use general-purpose hand and machine-applied render suitable for use in interior and exterior applications, including wet rooms. It meets the requirements of Normal Plastering Mortar (GP), compressive strength class CS IV, water absorption class W2, and A1 (non-combustible) reaction to fire class in accordance with EN 998-1:2016. It can be applied to a wide range of surfaces including brick, blockwork walls, pumice block, concrete, fair-faced concrete, aerated concrete, and ceiling surfaces. With an application thickness of 10–25 mm in a single coat, it combines the functions of base coat and finish coat render; machine application enables fast and homogeneous coverage.

Advantages

  • Lightweight in application compared to traditional renders.
  • Water-repellent properties.
  • Enables easy and fast application by machine.
  • Saves time and labour due to fast machine application.
  • Combines base coat and finish coat render in a single application layer.
  • Provides cost advantage and ease of control.
  • Thanks to its homogeneous structure, it provides high adhesion and strength at every point of the surface.
  • Provides a smooth surface for the final coat covering.

Usage Areas

  • Used for rendering brick walls in interior and exterior applications.
  • Used for rendering blockwork wall surfaces.
  • Used for rendering pumice block surfaces.
  • Used for rendering concrete and fair-faced concrete surfaces.
  • Used for rendering aerated concrete surfaces.
  • Used for rendering ceiling surfaces.
  • Can be used in interior spaces including wet rooms.

Application Steps

  1. 1

    Surface Preparation

Surfaces to be rendered must be free from mould release agents, loose particles, dust and any substances that could adversely affect the adhesion of the render. Cracks and holes in the surface must be repaired using the appropriate INNO-CRETE series repair mortars. In hot weather conditions, surfaces must be moistened with water. On aerated concrete walls, a spatter coat must be applied using FOX MORTAR FC188 T repair mortar 72 hours before the render application. On smooth fair-faced concrete surfaces, concrete ceilings and walls, FOX CONTACT PRIMER® FL101 primer must be applied with a coral roller; render application may commence 24 hours later.

  2. 2

    Mixing

FOX PROMATIC® is mixed in a ready-mix render machine. Approximately 4.75±0.25 litres of water must be used per 25 kg/1 bag (approximately 190±10 ml per 1 kg). No lumps must remain in the material.

  3. 3

    Application

FOX PROMATIC® is sprayed onto the surface to be treated using a render machine. The application thickness must be between 10–25 mm in a single coat. If the thickness exceeds 25 mm, the second coat is applied at a maximum thickness of 25 mm after the first coat has set. Two-coat application is recommended to prevent the risk of cracking. The surface is levelled with an aluminium straightedge. Once the render has sufficiently hardened, the surface is finished with a devil float and completed with a damp sponge.

  4. 4

    Curing

Within 7 days after application, the surface must be wetted at regular intervals. Full curing time is 28 days at +20°C.

  5. 5

    Tool Cleaning

Tools and equipment used must be cleaned with water immediately after application. Once FOX PROMATIC® has hardened, it can only be removed from the surface mechanically.

Critical

Render application must be carried out at temperatures between +5°C and +30°C. Application must not be performed outside this range.

Critical

No lime, cement, gypsum or similar additives must be added to the product.

Critical

Within 7 days after application, the surface must be wetted at regular intervals.

Critical

If the thickness exceeds 2.5 cm, the second coat must be applied at a maximum thickness of 2.5 cm after the first coat has set.

Critical

On aerated concrete walls, a spatter coat must be applied using FOX MORTAR FC188 T repair mortar 72 hours before the render application.

Critical

On smooth fair-faced concrete surfaces, concrete ceilings and walls, FOX CONTACT PRIMER® FL101 primer must be applied with a coral roller before application; render application may commence 24 hours later.

Important

In windy conditions, the surface must be protected against rapid drying.

Important

In hot weather, two-coat application is recommended to prevent the risk of cracking.

Important

The use of render mesh at column-beam and wall junctions is recommended.

Important

In hot weather conditions, surfaces must be moistened with water.

Important

The product must be stored between +5°C and +30°C, away from direct sunlight, in a cool and dry environment. Shelf life is 12 months from the date of manufacture.

Important

Opened packaging must be resealed and consumed within 1 week.

Important

For short-term storage, pallets must not be stacked more than 3 high; for long-term storage, pallets must not be stacked on top of each other.

Important

Protective work clothing, gloves, goggles and a mask must be worn during application. Contact with skin and eyes must be avoided; in case of contact, wash thoroughly with plenty of water and soap. In case of ingestion, seek medical attention immediately.

Important

It is dangerous to approach storage and application areas with open flames; these areas must be ventilated.

Information

The above technical values are given for +23°C and 50% relative humidity conditions. Higher temperatures shorten the time, lower temperatures extend it.

Information

Once FOX PROMATIC® has hardened, it can only be removed from the surface mechanically; tools and equipment used must be cleaned with water immediately after application.
