Product Description

FOX PURRAZZO SOLE is a polyurethane-based, two-component, solvent-free, glossy, UV-resistant, aesthetic and decorative, seamless coloured, self-levelling flexible floor coating material. With 100% solid content, it can be applied without solvent emissions. When applied at the recommended thickness of 1.5–2.5 mm, it offers high mechanical strength with Shore A ≥90 and Shore D ≥50 hardness values. It provides an aesthetic and hygienic floor coating solution with a wide range of colour options in the RAL colour scale.

Key Benefits

  • Thanks to its UV-resistant formula, no yellowing occurs during long-term use and the aesthetic appearance is maintained.
  • Its solvent-free structure allows safe application in enclosed spaces with low emissions.
  • Its flexible structure bridges cracks and provides long-lasting protection against floor movements.
  • The smooth surface that does not allow microbial growth meets hygiene standards in hospitals, schools and food areas.
  • Since colours can be mixed with each other, space-specific decorative floor designs can be created.
  • Its self-levelling property enables fast and easy application.

Advantages

  • Easy to apply.
  • Provides excellent adhesion.
  • UV-resistant, does not yellow.

Usage Areas

  • In hotels, schools, nurseries and children's play areas
  • In boutiques
  • In bars and restaurants
  • In offices
  • In congress, exhibition and meeting halls
  • In shopping centres
  • In shops and showrooms
  • In sports halls
  • In laboratories
  • In hospitals and nursing homes
  • In clinics
  • In areas where hygiene is required
  • In areas where the floor is expected to have a certain degree of flexibility

Application Steps

  1. 1

    Surface Preparation

Concrete substrates must be prepared using abrasive equipment such as shot blasting, milling or diamond grinding to remove the cement laitance and achieve an open-pored surface. Weak concrete fragments must be removed and voids and holes must be fully opened. The resulting dust must be cleaned with an industrial vacuum. For substrate repairs and filling of voids, a mortar obtained by mixing 60–70 AFS (0.1–0.3 mm) quartz sand with FOX EPOTHANE® PRIMER series primer should be used.

  2. 2

    Checking Application Conditions

Surface moisture content must be below 4% (must be tested by CM measurement or oven-drying method). There must be no rising moisture according to ASTM (polyethylene sheet test). Relative air humidity must be a maximum of 80%. Floor temperature must be at least +3°C above the dew point. Surface, ambient and material temperature must be a minimum of +10°C and a maximum of +30°C.

  3. 3

    Priming

Surfaces to which FOX PURRAZZO SOLE is to be applied must be primed in advance with FOX EPOTHANE® series primer. Floor temperature must be a minimum of +10°C.

  4. 4

    Mixing

Ensure that product temperatures are between +15°C and +25°C. Component A (contains pigment and filler) is first mixed thoroughly within itself using an electric mixer (300–400 rpm) until a homogeneous colour is obtained. After component B has been fully added to component A, mix for at least 3 minutes. The product is then transferred to another container and mixed for a further 1 minute. Avoid over-mixing to prevent air entrainment.

  5. 5

    Coating Application

FOX PURRAZZO SOLE is poured onto the prepared surface and applied evenly with a notched trowel. When the coating reaches the appropriate consistency, a spike roller must be applied to release air. If the floor surface is homogeneous and void-free, spike roller application is not necessary. Consumption is approximately 2.0 kg/m².

  6. 6

    Tool and Equipment Cleaning

Tools and equipment used must be cleaned with solvents such as FOX CS810, FOX C380 after application. Once FOX PURRAZZO SOLE has cured, it can only be removed from the surface by mechanical means.

Critical

Application temperature (surface, ambient and material) must be a minimum of +10°C and a maximum of +30°C.

Critical

Surface moisture content must be below 4%. Test method: CM measurement or oven-drying method.

Critical

Relative air humidity must be a maximum of 80%. Attention must be paid to dew formation and condensation.

Critical

The floor temperature must be at least +3°C above the dew point. Dew formation and water vapour condensation will damage the coating.

Critical

After the application is completed, the coating must be protected from direct water contact for at least 24 hours. Water contact causes softening and blistering; in this case the coating must be completely removed and reapplied.

Critical

There must be no rising moisture according to ASTM (polyethylene sheet test).

Important

Concrete surfaces to be coated with epoxy/polyurethane must be at least 3 weeks old prior to application.

Important

Mixing must be carried out with an electric mixer at 300–400 rpm and the specified epoxy/polyurethane resin mixing paddle. Otherwise, air bubbles will form on the coating.

Important

Before starting to mix, ensure that the product temperatures are between +15°C and +25°C.

Important

After component B has been fully added to component A, mix for at least 3 minutes, then transfer to another container and mix for a further 1 minute.

Important

If the spike roller application is delayed, spike roller marks may remain on the surface.

Important

Materials to be used should be brought to the application site 1–2 days in advance and allowed to acclimatise to ambient conditions.

Important

Rain, dust, wind, animals and insects must be prevented from entering the building while the coating is still fresh.

Important

In cold weather, products should be kept at +20°C–+25°C to bring them to a ready-to-use condition.

Important

Shelf life is 6 months from the date of manufacture when stored at room temperature, away from direct sunlight, between +10°C and +30°C.

Important

Must be stored in its original unopened packaging, in a cool and dry environment, away from direct sunlight and protected from frost.

Critical

It is dangerous to approach storage and application areas with open flames; these areas must be ventilated.

Critical

Work clothing, protective gloves, goggles and a mask must be worn during application. Avoid contact with skin and eyes; in case of contact, wash thoroughly with plenty of water and soap. If swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.

Important

Food and beverages must not be brought into application areas. Must be stored out of reach of children.

Information

Consumption figures are given for ideal conditions where ambient and surface temperature is 20°C. It should be noted that consumption will increase on damaged surfaces and in cold weather conditions.

Information

Curing times are affected by ambient temperature, floor temperature and air humidity. Curing slows at low temperatures and accelerates at high temperatures.
