Product Description
FOX INJECTION PUR FC410 is a polyurethane resin-based injection material developed for water cut-off and crack filling. It complies with the TS EN 1504-5 standard. It reacts with water to form foam with a high expansion factor, effectively filling cracks and voids. Solvent-free. Reaction time can be controlled by mixing with an accelerator (FOX INJECTION PUR FC410 CAT) at a ratio of 2–10%. Applied with an injection pump at pressures between 14–200 bar. Suitable for use in tunnel lining concrete, diaphragm walls, fractured rock, and sandy-gravelly soils.
Key Benefits
- Adheres reliably to wet and damp surfaces, effectively stopping water ingress.
- Reacts with water to form foam, completely filling crack voids.
- High expansion factor (25–30 times with 10% accelerator) covers wide cracks and voids.
- Reaction time can be optimised for site conditions by adjusting the accelerator ratio (2–10%).
- Solvent-free formulation minimises harmful vapour emissions to the environment and user during application.
- Can be applied with a single-component injection pump, enabling practical and fast installation under site conditions.
Advantages
- Good adhesion to wet surfaces.
- Can be applied with an injection pump.
- Reacts with water to form foam.
- High expansion factor.
- Economical.
- Solvent-free.
Usage Areas
- Stabilisation of fractured rock
- Stopping water ingress from the negative side
- Pre-injection into sandy soils and fractured rock
- Stabilisation of sandy and gravelly soils
- Stopping water leaks in tunnel lining concrete and diaphragm walls
Application Steps
- 1
Surface Preparation
The plaster on the surface must be removed so that the entire crack plane can be identified. The concrete surface to be treated must be cleaned of dust, oil, and construction debris, and any damaged or loose concrete pieces must be removed. If water seepage is present on the surface, it must be drained or sealed with FOX PLUG FC340.
- 2
Drilling and Packer Installation
Based on the width, depth, and site conditions of the crack, holes must be drilled in a staggered pattern from both sides of the crack plane at appropriate intervals (~15–90 cm). The holes must be drilled deep enough to penetrate through the crack plane to the other side, at an angle of approximately 45° to the crack plane. After cleaning the holes with air, the packers must be driven in and tightened to secure them.
- 3
Surface Sealing
After all packers have been installed, the areas around the packers and over the crack must be coated with FOX EPOMORTAR FC510 to ensure sealing.
- 4
Water Injection in Dry Conditions
In dry conditions, water must first be injected into the packers; this will ensure the water in the crack reacts with the resin.
- 5
Waiting Period
Depending on ambient and weather conditions, injection should commence no earlier than 12 hours after surface preparation, using a suitable injection apparatus.
- 6
Mixing with Accelerator
FOX INJECTION PUR FC410 is mixed with the accelerator (FOX INJECTION PUR FC410 CAT) at a ratio of 2% to 10% depending on the desired reaction time. Before starting to mix, ensure that the material temperature is between +15°C and +25°C. Mix with a suitable mechanical mixer and mixing tip until a homogeneous mixture is obtained.
- 7
Injection Application
The prepared mixture is placed into the chamber of a single-component injection pump and injection is started from the lowest packer at an appropriate pressure between 14–200 bar, depending on the crack dimensions, reinforced concrete thickness, and general conditions. When material begins to emerge from the next packer up, the injection hose must be connected to that packer; the process must continue up to the topmost packer. When material emerges from the topmost packer, the application is considered complete.
- 8
Completion
At least 24 hours after FOX INJECTION PUR FC410 application, packer tips can be cut for any subsequent surface treatments.
During application, ambient and surface temperature must not fall below +10°C or exceed +35°C.
For the material to complete curing, ambient and surface temperature must not drop below the permitted minimum temperature.
Solvents or similar thinners must not be added to the mixture during application.
Mixing must always be carried out using suitable mechanical mixers. Hand mixing must not be performed.
Packer tips can be cut at least 24 hours after FOX INJECTION PUR FC410 application, prior to any subsequent surface treatments.
In dry conditions, water must first be injected into the packers; this will ensure the water in the crack reacts with the resin.
Depending on ambient and weather conditions, injection should commence no earlier than 12 hours after surface preparation, using a suitable injection apparatus.
The working and reaction times of resin-based systems are affected by ambient and substrate temperature as well as relative humidity. Chemical reactions slow down at low temperatures, while high temperatures accelerate the reaction.
The product must be stored in its original packaging, in a cool and dry environment, between +5°C and +30°C, protected from frost. Shelf life is 6 months from the date of manufacture.
For short-term storage, pallets must not be stacked more than 3 high; for long-term storage, pallets must not be stacked on top of each other.
Open flames near storage and application areas are dangerous. Storage and application areas must be ventilated.
During application, appropriate work clothing, protective gloves, goggles, and a mask must be worn in accordance with occupational health and safety regulations.
During storage and application, contact with skin and eyes must be avoided; in case of contact, wash immediately with plenty of water and soap; if swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.
Food and beverages must not be brought into application areas. Store out of reach of children.
