Dekoflake • Cobalt • Classic • Full Coverage
The DECOFLAKE CLASSIC SYSTEM is an epoxy-based decorative flake coating system with high chemical resistance. FOX DECOFLAKE vinyl flakes, broadcast onto the coloured coating while it is still wet, are locked in by a clear top coat; system thickness 0.5-1.0 mm.

Decoflake Classic · Full Coverage; FOX DECOFLAKE is broadcast at a consumption of ~0.30 kg/m² (full coverage — the flakes cover the surface completely). The system type determines the layer products, while the coverage type determines the broadcast consumption and the surface appearance; the flake selection only shows the colours photographed for the selected coverage.

About Decoflake Classic · Full Coverage

Decoflake Classic · Full Coverage is an epoxy-based decorative flake floor coating system with high chemical resistance. FOX DECOFLAKE vinyl flake chips, available in a range of colour options, are broadcast at full coverage density onto the FOX EPOTHANE® COLORTOP coloured coating layer.

The prepared concrete surface is primed with FOX EPOTHANE® COLORTOP; FOX EPOTHANE® COLORTOP is then poured onto the surface, spread with a notched trowel and back-rolled with a roller. While the coating is still wet, FOX DECOFLAKE is broadcast at ~0.30 kg/m². After 24 hours, excess and loose flakes are scraped off in two directions, then sanded with 40-grit abrasive and vacuumed. FOX EPOTHANE® TOPCOAT CLEAR is applied as the top coat with a trowel and back-rolled; for a matt appearance FOX PURATHANE® TOPCOAT WB CLEAR MATT, and for extra gloss FOX DOMINO® AC SEALER FD792, can be applied as an optional top coat. The surface can be walked on 24 hours after application is completed; it reaches its final mechanical and chemical resistance in 7 days.

Consumption figures are given for ideal conditions at +20 °C; the primer and consumption figures may vary depending on the condition of the floor and the ambient conditions. A site visit by our expert team is recommended before deciding on a system solution.

Which floors can it be applied to?

Applied to concrete floors at least 28 days old, of minimum class C20 and with a tensile strength above 1.5 N/mm²; moisture at a depth of 2 cm must be below 4 %. Laitance is removed by shot blasting, milling or diamond grinding; repairs are made with FOX MORTAR FC188 T / FOX FASTMORTAR FC245 / FC233.

What is the difference between full, standard and light coverage?

The difference lies in the amount of flake broadcast: full coverage at ~300 g/m² covers the surface completely, standard coverage at 60-100 g/m² leaves the coloured coating visible between the flakes, and light coverage at 20-30 g/m² remains as an accent. This system is broadcast at full coverage; the coating colour influences the overall appearance.

What is the difference between the Classic, Fast and UV systems?

Classic is epoxy-based and offers high chemical resistance; UV is polyurethane-based and does not yellow in sunlight; Fast is polyaspartic-based, is both UV resistant and can be walked on within 2-4 hours. Flake broadcasting and finishing are the same for all three.

Matt or gloss?

The standard finish is gloss, with FOX EPOTHANE® TOPCOAT CLEAR. For a matt appearance FOX PURATHANE® TOPCOAT WB CLEAR MATT, and for extra gloss FOX DOMINO® AC SEALER FD792, is applied as an optional top coat.

Is it slip resistant?

Yes. The texture of FOX DECOFLAKE gives the floor slip resistance; the texture is more pronounced at light and standard coverage.

When is the coating ready for use and how is it maintained?

It can be walked on after 24 hours at 25 °C; final strength is reached in 7 days. It must be protected from direct water contact for the first 24 hours. Cleaning epoxy floor coatings with FOX CLEANER FR340 is recommended.
