Layer structure: PRIMER HB primer, FOX EPOTHANE® ISO-CRACK EP-2K crack-bridging membrane, quartz broadcast, FOX TERRAZZO L STRIP profile, FOX PURRAZZO MIX + aggregate + FILLER TF terrazzo, pore filling with the same binder, FD793 sealer + TOPCOAT WB clear matt top coat.

Purrazzo Mix is offered in 19 sample patterns (PU binder code × RAL colour); the aggregate choice (Standard / Crystal / Exotic, 1-3 / 3-6 / 6-9 mm) completes the pattern. The colour choice does not change the layer structure.

About Purrazzo Mix

Purrazzo Mix is a polyurethane-based, antibacterial and steam-cleanable poured terrazzo floor coating system. Naturally coloured aggregates are added to the pigmented FOX PURRAZZO MIX binder, the pattern is formed with aluminium L profiles, the surface is ground, the pores are filled with the same binder and the floor is protected with a clear top coat.

The concrete surface is prepared with abrasive equipment and primed with FOX EPOTHANE® PRIMER HB; the FOX ISO-CRACK epoxy membrane system (FOX EPOTHANE® ISO-CRACK EP-2K + glass textile mesh) is mandatory in order to prevent cracks from reflecting through to the surface. The pattern areas are separated with FOX TERRAZZO L STRIP profiles. The FOX PURRAZZO MIX A and B components are mixed; 3.85 units of aggregate and 1.25 units of FOX EPOTHANE® FILLER TF are added to 1 unit of binder, then poured and levelled with a screed bar. The cured surface is ground with diamond and resin pads until the aggregate is exposed; the pores are filled with the same pigmented binder and the floor is finished with FOX DOMINO® PU SEALER FD793 and FOX PURATHANE® TOPCOAT WB clear matt.

The consumption figures are given for ideal conditions at +23 °C; a site inspection with our expert team is recommended before the system solution.

Which floors can it be applied to?

Applied to concrete floors at least 3 weeks old with ≥25 N/mm² compressive and ≥1.5 N/mm² tensile strength; moisture must be ≤4%, the floor temperature at least +10 °C and 3 °C above the dew point. Cement laitance is removed by shot blasting, milling or diamond grinding; repairs are made with FOX EPOTHANE® PRIMER + quartz sand mortar.

Is the Intermediate Coat (FOX EPOTHANE® BASECOAT) mandatory?

No, it is optional; it is applied if there is undulation on the surface or if preferred. For conditions outside the standard, contact technical service for system details.

How is it maintained?

The seamless (jointless) surface does not hold dirt; it is easy to clean, requires minimum maintenance and is simple to repair. After application the coating must be protected from direct water contact for at least 24 hours.

What are the colour options?

Each Purrazzo system is offered with its own colour chart; the desired design can be achieved with different RAL colour options. The colours on the chart may differ from the original colours depending on the printing technique and the ambient light.

What sets Mix apart from epoxy terrazzo?

Its binder is polyurethane: it is antibacterial, steam-cleanable and flexible. The pattern is determined by the PU binder × RAL colour combination and the aggregate choice (Standard / Crystal / Exotic, 1-3 / 3-6 / 6-9 mm).

Is the crack-bridging membrane mandatory?

Yes. The FOX ISO-CRACK epoxy membrane system is mandatory before terrazzo coatings in order to prevent existing and potential cracks in the concrete surface from reflecting onto the terrazzo surface.

FOX EPOTHANE® ISO-CRACK EP-2K

FOX EPOTHANE® FILLER TF

FOX EPOTHANE® FILLER TF is a quartz-based epoxy terrazzo filler specially developed for the FOX ZEUGMA EPOXY TERRAZZO System Matrix. By filling the voids between aggregates, it ensures the system achieves a homogeneous and uniform structure.

FOX DOMINO® PU SEALER FD793

FOX DOMINO® PU SEALER FD793 is a single-component, polyurethane-based, solvent-borne transparent topcoat protective material that prevents dusting on all types of concrete floors, imparts a glossy appearance, and provides water-repellent properties.

High abrasion resistance; prevents dusting and creates a harder surface.
Provides waterproofing; prevents cracking that may result from freezing.
Used as a polish thanks to the glossy film layer it forms.

FOX PURATHANE® TOPCOAT WB

FOX PURATHANE® TOPCOAT WB is a modified polyurethane-based, two-component, water-based, UV-resistant topcoat with high abrasion resistance, containing aliphatic isocyanate. It is used in epoxy and polyurethane floor systems, on walls and in various industrial areas.
