FOX ZEUGMA EPOXY TERRAZZO is a multi-layer, self-levelling decorative terrazzo floor coating system produced by casting coloured aggregates in place with an epoxy binder and then grinding the surface. The binder is FOX EPOTHANE® BASECOAT TERRAZZO; total thickness 9-11 mm.

About Zeugma Epoxy Medium · Matt

Zeugma Epoxy Medium · Matt is an epoxy-based, smooth-surfaced, easy-to-clean, hygienic, self-levelling coloured decorative terrazzo floor coating system used for floors exposed to very heavy mechanical and chemical loads. This system uses 3-6 mm aggregate and the surface is completed with a matt finish.

Quartz sand is broadcast over the epoxy primer; after the crack-bridging membrane and the pattern profiles, FOX EPOTHANE® BASECOAT TERRAZZO, FOX EPOTHANE® FILLER TF filler and the aggregate mixture are poured onto the surface and spread with a notched trowel. The cured surface is diamond-ground to reveal the aggregate and the pattern; FOX DOMINO® PU SEALER FD793 + FOX PURATHANE® TOPCOAT WB (matt) is applied as the finish coat. The binder can be produced in all RAL colours. The surface can be walked on 24 hours after the application is completed and reaches its final mechanical and chemical resistance in 7 days.

Consumption figures are given for ideal ambient and substrate conditions; a site inspection by our expert team is recommended before the system solution.

Which substrates can it be applied to?

It is applied to concrete floors at least 28 days old, of minimum class C20 and with a pull-off strength above 1.5 N/mm²; the concrete moisture content at 2 cm depth must be below 4%. Laitance is removed with abrasive equipment and repairs are made with a mixture of FOX EPOTHANE® PRIMER + quartz sand.

What is the difference between matt, semi-matt and gloss finishes?

The finish is determined by the top coat product. This system has a matt finish: FOX DOMINO® PU SEALER FD793 + FOX PURATHANE® TOPCOAT WB (matt). For a matt finish, FOX PURATHANE® TOPCOAT WB is applied over FOX DOMINO® PU SEALER FD793; semi-matt and gloss finishes are achieved with FOX DOMINO® AC SEALER FD792.

Is it resistant to chemicals?

Yes. The epoxy binder provides high chemical resistance; the chemical resistance table is given in the product technical data sheet. If the surface is exposed to chemicals, it must be cleaned within 1 hour at the latest.

Is a non-slip finish possible?

Yes. The system can be completed with a non-slip floor finish on request; please consult our technical team for wet areas and spaces requiring hygienic conditions.

When is the coating ready for use?

At 25 °C the surface can be walked on 24 hours after the application is completed; it reaches its final mechanical and chemical strength at the end of 7 days. Lower temperatures extend these periods.

How is it cleaned and maintained?

It is cleaned with neutral detergents or alkaline solutions diluted to a concentration of 5-10%. Regular maintenance extends the service life of the floor and reduces its tendency to soil.

FOX EPOTHANE® FILLER TF

FOX EPOTHANE® FILLER TF is a quartz-based epoxy terrazzo filler specially developed for the FOX ZEUGMA EPOXY TERRAZZO System Matrix. By filling the voids between aggregates, it ensures the system achieves a homogeneous and uniform structure.

FOX DOMINO® PU SEALER FD793

FOX DOMINO® PU SEALER FD793 is a single-component, polyurethane-based, solvent-borne transparent topcoat protective material that prevents dusting on all types of concrete floors, imparts a glossy appearance, and provides water-repellent properties.

High abrasion resistance; prevents dusting and creates a harder surface.
Provides waterproofing; prevents cracking that may result from freezing.
Used as a polish thanks to the glossy film layer it forms.

FOX PURATHANE® TOPCOAT WB

FOX PURATHANE® TOPCOAT WB is a modified polyurethane-based, two-component, water-based, UV-resistant topcoat with high abrasion resistance, containing aliphatic isocyanate. It is used in epoxy and polyurethane floor systems, on walls and in various industrial areas.

FOX DOMINO® AC SEALER FD792

FOX DOMINO® AC SEALER FD792 is a single-component, water-based, acrylic-based protective topcoat material that prevents dusting on all types of concrete floors and forms a glossy, protective film layer.
